Anyone used Endep before?

I have just been prescribed Endep and was wondering if anyone else here had experience using it? Interested in knowing if any side effects were experienced like weight gain, sexual dysfunction, etc.

Also, I'm breastfeeding a nearly 7 month old and Dr said this medication was fine. Has anyone else been told different? Not that I don't trust him just like to have as much info as I can.

I haven't used it when breast feeding.
But I am on it. Works ok I find - I think my dose needs to be increased. I haven't had any side effects.

That's great catastrophic. I was on an SSRI a few years back and had some side effects that weren't pleasant so hopefully this type will be different. Did it take long to take effect?

Summary of Use during Lactation:
Milk levels of amitriptyline and its metabolites are low. Immediate side effects have not been reported and a limited amount of follow-up has found no adverse effects on infant growth and development. Amitriptyline use during breastfeeding would usually not be expected to cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants, especially if the infant is older than 2 months. Other agents with fewer active metabolites may be preferred when large doses are required or while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.

I used it. Had no side effects like the ones you mentioned, but it always pays to keep an eye on these things. I also used whilst breastfeeding #2. My SIL is a pharmacist and she assured me it was ok.

Thanks so much guys- especially the reassurance with breastfeeding whilst using it. Really puts my mind at ease. I was told to gradually increase dosage for a few weeks so I guess the full effect won't be known for a while, but how long do you think before I feel something? I forgot to ask the dr and don't want to ask Dr Google also, have any of you ha sexual side effects?
