I suddenly find myself under routine observation for pre-eclampsia. My blood pressure is normally about 120/70 but it went up to 130/90 and has kept rising slowly, today it was 139/94.

I have to go back to hospital tomorrow for another round of blood/urine/bp tests and a CTG for baby (baby is fine, though).

If things are worse again tomorrow, I'm going to be induced. Well I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow, so it's not too early ... technically, but I don't feel like my body is ready for labour yet. yes I've had some cramping and braxton hicks, but I don't think I'm there yet.

So I'm worried that induction will lead to painful and useless contractions and 38-hours of labour that ends up in a c-section, and I don't know how to avoid it.

I'm not willing to risk my baby's life. If I need to be induced, so be it. But what should I know ahead of time in order to prevent the old "cascade of ...."

Please give me some advice so I know what to do.
