Is there any discharge and what colour is it? Thrush normally comes with a creamy, cottage cheese type discharge. In the absence of this I would suspect infection, so worth mentioning to your GP.
Sorry for your loss![]()
I have never had either of the above so any help would be appreciated.
As some of you may know I miscarried last Saturday at 7 weeks, so onto day 6 today, yesterday I started to get an uncontrollable itch and it is also a bit smelly, no burning or anything though, does this sound more like an infection rather than thrush due to the circumstances?
I am going to see a doctor today for a thyroid check/script and also to check my HCG levels are going down, so I will ask him but curious what the best plan of action is (remembering that I am breastfeeding also)?

I too am sorry for your loss, mate.
No doubt the Dr will take a swab so they can be sure one way or another. I was of the understanding that thrush often clears up when you get your period... so if you are bleeding atm (?) I would think infection?
Not sure what they would do - although obviously a course of ABs would be in order...
I hope whatever it is clears up quickly for you.![]()
Thankyou for your replies. Yes I am still bleeding (so no noticable discharge), on my last days I think as it has finally slowed, if that is the case I think it is an infection, I'm glad that I have an appointment today as I do not want it getting any worse. I was unsure if you could take AB's when breastfeeding, I cannot remember the last time I was on them it has been years, oh well I am sure the doctor will know what to do.
Thanks again![]()
There are a few abx which are ok to take when breastfeeding, I'm sure you GP will sort you out
I dont think infections get uncontrollably itchy though?
Check out the thread on treating thrush with garlic if its confirmed its indeed thrush. I find that remedy works way better than the over the counter products, heaps of others have found that too.
