    dodgy cervix...

have to apologise if TMI and all that jazz, but ever since my pap smear the other day i have been *slightly* concerned about what my GP told me...

he told me that part of my cervix is 'inside out'. he said that it looks as though i have had some medical procedure done to it and asked me if this is the case (which is wasnt), BUT i did have endometriosis on the outside of my cervix for many years (which is now gone thank goodness!). however, the whole 'inside out' thing is really confusing! i have been good with my excersises and things all feel good and strong in there...but is this something i should keep an eye on? especially now that i am pregnant i am in 'paranoid overdrive' lol!

please tell me i am just 'unique' but perfect...please

never heard such a thing, but i'm sure its ok- we are all individual- and it'd be a bit boring if all our cervix's looked the same wouldn't it?

ok so probably not helpful at all but it could just be the result of what the endometriosis caused and it's nothing to worry about. and try not to worry i'm sure your GP would have referred you on to someone if he was worried about it.

    thanks em!

see that's the thing...the GP said that it's not an issue, but when i got my letter back from the crytology people (for the papsmear) they recommended a clinical exploration of the cervical issue...now, i wonder if that just means that because the GP has already ok'yd it, then that is the 'clinical exploration'?? sorry for the million qs lol!

Hmm I think "clinical exploration" would mean "have a bloody good look into it"? I'm not sure that's been done or if your GP is experienced enough in gyno stuff to be able to give you the all clear. I'd definitely be following it up if I was your shoes (or cervix).

    Hi Cassius

Just wondering if you've spoken to your caregiver about the 'clinical exploration' of your 'dodgy cervix'?

    Hi Ali,

no, not yet, have been seeing him for all and sundry lately what with low iron and dizzy spells...ah the joys of pregnancy lol!

he seemed to not think it worth exploring last time, but at the back of my mind it niggles me IYKWIM...

I reckon you should keep it in mind and mention regularly - otherwise docs tend to forget about these things! Are you have a major NT scan? They'll measure the length of your cervix then and you can mention it to the ultrasound operator to see if they can shed any light.

Sorry to hear about your other issues! I spent months with major headspins every time I stood up due to low blood pressure, it's not much fun is it!
