When i was 17 i had a bad fall off a horse, i landed on my right side so my right hip and my arm. My hip was sore and i mentioned that at the hospital but they were only worried about fixing my arm up. Now i think something bad has happened.
The pain i have starts in my lower back then goes into my right hip then into my right buttock and sometimes the pain goes all the way down my leg. Sometimes it feels like the hip isnt in its joint and then it feels like its bone on bone. There is so much pressure i feel like getting someone to pull my leg as i believe thats what will stop the pressure.
The pain first started when i would stand up for long periods, all my jobs have required me to do that. It was only bad in my footwear job as we had to stand on concrete all day. My job now has mats we stand on but the pain seems to be worse.
Any ideas on what it could be?
I know i should see a doctor but i am worried its something serious and i hate that i have left it so long.
Could it be your sciatic nerve (sp?). I would try seeing a physio first. Sorry I don't have any other ideas for you. Good luck and I hope you have it sorted soon.
Yep - totally agree with the other posters. Siatica (sp). See a physio hun (should be able to access one through the hossy where your going).
Has to do with how/where the baby is sitting too.
I had it for the last 6 weeks with DD and have had it since 6 weeks with this bubba. SOOOOOO painful but I find regular physio/massages and heat really help it. Physio told me also to avoid long walks, still walk just not the massive ones I was doing.
HTH x
could be any number of things including nerves caught in joints, or compression of discs on nerves. I strongly suggest you get your GP to send you for a CT scan so you can see what's going on. Based on the results, you can then chose the most appropriate course of action. I discovered I have 2 slipped discs and have been able to get back to 90% of my functionability (and still improving) through clinical pilates and PT sessions to increase my core strength. I urge you to get the CT and take action before it gets too bad.
Thanks ladies. I will definitely get off my butt and get seen to. I have always been meaning to but when i find the time to see a doctor the pain goes away but its been getting worse since i became pregnant. Much more intense.
Agree with the other girls on this one. It could be sciatic nerve due to a bulge in the disk. I had simular pain years ago and the only thing that worked for me was chiropractic treatment. During pregnancy I saw my chiro on a regular basis and when I had hip pain she suggested to get a foam overlay on my bed as it could be too hard. This worked an absolute treat. Anyway good luck I hope all goes well for you.
