Just updating - went and saw the dr and she did find a ridge in the breast but thinks it is just from BF. We are going to have an US on the 30th but it all sounds very normal. So thank you for your thoughts.

Dr's would much prefer to check and find nothing, than have to tell a young Mum she has cancer. Always get them checked cause it will be the one that you 'ignore' that will be something wrong..When I was in my early 20's I was forever getting lumps, they were all nothing, but got each one checked jic..
Sara please insist on a mammogram if the US detects nothing. They will tell you your breast tissue is too dense but in fact they do diagnostic mamm's all the time on younger women. I had several U/S (which showed absolutely nothing at all, even when my tumour was well over 7cm big) but when I finally had the mamm (after being told multiple times it would show nothing because I'm too young) it lit up like a fairground. Lucky for me it's still early enough for it not to have turned nasty.
Sara - I found a lump in one of my BBs a few weeks ago now, had it shecked by my doc who then refered me to get a mammy and u/s done on it - even though it all came back clear she has refered me to a breast specialist!
she also said to me when a woman feels a lump in her bb it is always best to get it checked by a doctor no matter how silly you think it is, after the doctor has checked it out they should send you for a u/s or mammy to see if it is anything and if it comaes back clear just have your bbs checked by the same doctor every month!
I have breast cancer genes on my mums side, (My great nan died of it and my nan has had a double masectomy becasue of it) so my mum and aunts get checked every year and I will be doing the same as my nan was in her early 30s when she got it (i have 5yrs until I'm 30)!

Do you have a breast screening centre near you. Give them a ring to see if you can book in for a mammo now.
These places are really good and if you need a referral just make an appointment then ring the Dr and ask them to fax it straight to the centre.
A few years ago I found my second lump, first was removed before I had kids as that was what they did, and it turned out to be cysts which they drained. This was done at the breast screening centre, took about 15 minutes and no cost.
I'm glad that the doc thinks it's nothing to worry about. That is a great sign.
You wouldn't believe it, but my annual US and mammogram are on the 30th also!! I'll be thinking of you while I'm sitting in the waiting room!!
