    nervous sweater

Hi all just an embarrassing plea for help! I have just started a new job in which i am nervous sweating through all my work shirts. It doesn't smell just large wet patches under my arms rather embarrassing!
I have always had this problem and have tried all types of deodorants even the highest strength aluminium deodorants on the market.
I have also tried bi-carb soda and apple cider vinegar......
If you have any other ideas let me know. I'm willing to try anything!!!!!

I can't offer much advice about deodorants if you have tried them all but maybe you could look at the shirts you are wearing. Some fabrics and colours show sweat more than others and patterns cover it up better than solids. Maybe think about wearing work shirts that don't show the sweat so much.
What about a t-shirt under your work shirt to absorb it a bit. You could change the t-shirt at lunch time.
It's winter now so you could wear merino thermals - merino is awesome because it seems to just vapourise sweat. I wear it when I'm getting really physical in winter and it's like you're not sweating at all.

The only thing that stops me sweating is one called Driclor from the chemist, you've probably already tried it, but if you haven't be careful it can burn and now gives me a horrible rash. It was ok to start with but not any more, the rash is horrid...but I don't sweat. So try with caution...good luck I know how you feel!

zwan, I recently read something about botox being used to help people who profusely sweat. I'm not sure how it works exactly but you could contact a dermatology clinic and have a chat to them about it - I saw it advertised in a dermatology clinic.

Oh hun, I know what it's like. I am a sweaty little being normally and worse at work. I am allergic to aluminium so can't use any of the products that claim to stop perspiration.

Anyway, I have tried the underarm pads and it worked pretty well but would need to change every couple of hours I reckon. It gave me a really bad rash from the sticky stuff though and was different to the brand above. Also give the t-shirt under your shirt a try.

Driclor worked for me, as long as I put it on at night before going to bed. If I left it til morning it didn't work. Also don't apply after shaving - OUCH!
I spoke to my GP about other options, but he said that if you block or remove the sweat glands, then it will find somewhere else to escape which can be just as bad

Hopefully if it's just nervous sweats it will settle down....

I use Sweax underarm pads and they are wonderful. You can get them from chemists or health shops. They come in little pink boxes for women and blue for men. I also use Rexona clinical protection which is not as harsh as the others. I find I have much more confidence when wearing the Sweax. Try wear black as well, it doesn't show up sweat marks as well.
