    Unhappy pancreatitis

    can any one tell me any thing about it what treatment you had etc symptoms etc
    i am being refered to a sugical review but i can not even cget in to see my gp till monday after noon i am in so much pain it is nearly unbearable DH wants to take me to hospital i am trying really hard not to be a sook ..

    Shazz I have not had it myself but my best friend had it quite a lot over a period of several years. It is considered to be one of the most painful conditions you can suffer from... leaves childbirth in the dust apparently. Let DH take you to hospital. I am not sure about the nature of your problem but my friend couldn't eat or drink anything when suffering an attack because that made it worse. He would fast and go to hospital where they put him on morphine. Seriously you are not being a sook this is one of the most painful conditions you can have.

    Shazz hon, if you are in the middle of an attack now - GO TO THE HOSPITAL.

    DH's dad has had 4 bouts of it - you don't muck around with it - it is serious stuff.

    GO TO THE HOSPITAL.. RIGHT NOW.

    I agree with Arimeh... go to the hospital hun.

    My Nan had such a severe attack of pancreatitis that she ended up a Type 1 diabetic. It damaged her pancreas so bad and did damage to her liver also.

    thanks guys eating and drinking is hopeless i have the most ridiculous dr's first one told me it was reflux put me on drugs for that went back the next day in servere pain told told to wait it out went to a diffent surgey dr ordered bloods urine and CT reading the report it definately says i have a acute pancreatitis with a calculus in the central bile duct appropriate action would be to refer to a surgical review ii what it says looks like i'm off to hospital thanks again everyone

    Shazz. hope you miss this cos you have already gone to hospy!!!! but they will most prob put you on a drip and clear fluids only for a few days and pain killers.

    the pain is like reflux.. but more.. and it wont go away on its own.
