    Severe back pain

Does anyone else have pain in pelvis and lower back pain, myn is severe and I am going to see a doc about it next Monday, but wanted to know what is the strongest pain relief they can give you while BF?Or is there nothing? It is a pain beyond panadol and nurofen, so not sure what is safe beyond them now. This is agony.

    Labour TENS for back pain

Try Labour TENS for back pain -I had the same problem. I bought a labour TENS online and used it throughout pregnancy and for birth. It helped tremendously. I also used yoga ansd massage. Good luck.

Hi! I am a newbie (8 wks) and have severe pain of the lower spine and pelvis (ankylosing spondylitis) . I have taken tramadol 200mg for about 5 years and am still taking it as life as I know it ceases when I stop taking it, even though I am pregnant. I have done a lot of research on it and although it is a cat C drug (not recommended in pregnancy/BFing) I have no other real option. In animal studies, the doses they have given them exceeds the normal marternal dose by a mile, so the studies aren't really helpful. I really feel for you as severe pain will stop your life. I have only been recommended panadol/panadeine which is a joke considering the severe bone pain I have. Basically there is nothing else that is safe, but it is a matter of weighing up the potential benefits with the potential risks, which only you can decide. I really feel for you and hope you can find a solution.

Why don't you see someone about fixing the problem as well as getting appropriate pain medication? I'm a physio so naturally I would suggest them first, however others may be more up your alley such as an osteopath. Regardless of which profession, I'd recommend someone who has an 'active' treatment philosophy rather than you just lying there and getting things done to you.
