    Stomach Bug Woes

    hello all,
this past week for me has been horrendous my DD had a nasty stomach bug last Sun and Mon. My DH and i started with the vomitting late on Wed. The rest of the family seem to be fine now and are all back to themselves however i still cant eat and feel terrible. i haven't been sick since Thur evening though still have the Runs but only mildly. I am drinking lots of fluids but can't stomach the thought of food yet at the same time i am starving. DH is very worried about our unborn bub. Has anyone out there exp something similiar or got any useful advice?
    Thanks

    Hi Nat

Hugs to you - it's really awful feeling like that at the best of times let along when you are pregnant.
I had a bug late on in both pregnancies and the main thing my ob was worried about was keeping hydrated. He said if i couldn't keep water down after a couple of days then he was going to admit my and put my on a drip. I forced a load of water down and thankfully it stayed as i didn't want to be admitted and certainly didn't want to have a drip. Didn't even bother asking him the second time as that only lasted 2 -3 days and wasn't as bad. So i guess the main thing is what you are already doing and keeping hydrated. I don't think not eating for a short while is a problem as bub will take what he/she needs from you whether you've eaten anything or not but you will feel really weak if you don't eat something soon. mmmmm the only thing i fancy when ill is often watermelon as it's mostly water but has sugar in it to pick you up and once i've eaten that i usually start to fancy other things. Maybe some dry biscuits?

Hope you all feel much better soon, take care

I had a horrid bug last year but wasn't pg thank goodness. I was told to stick to flat lemonade and dry bread and potatoes, slowly introducing soups after 2-3days and by day 5 resuming a normal diet
