    Unhappy Stomach Cramps + Gastro?

oh joy if joys, its time for gastro to go round again.... I'm the 4th person from my office to get it!!! I have stopped vomiting etc but i have horrendous stomach cramps!!!! right under my ribcage.... ouch ouch ouch! does anyone know how to ease them? I've tried peppermint oil tablets, stemitol (sp?) but that made it worse, and yeah... i ended up taking panadine last night so i could actually sleep !!! I am drinking plenty of fluids but i haven't eaten anything today as of yet... apart from some dry cracker thingys... can't bear the thought of proper food right now!!

I spoke to my mum (Dh is at work all day so i'm home alone ), she reckons don't bother going to the docs cos they'll just give me stemitol (sp?) which i already have...

    Any help would be appreciated...

    Thank you in advance

In that case, i AM going to make you chicken soup - and you'll appreciate it! LOL. You can freeze it if you really don't feel like it Just sipping on some of the broth will help you feel better tho, without having to actually eat anything.

I'm trying to remember what the dr gave DH when he had gastro ages ago (just pains, not much vomiting)..... I haven't got anything in the cupboard, so I'm not sure he gave him anything? I have a feeling he just recommended buscopan or something and waiting it out.

buscapam will help and is available over the counter. If that doesn't work, go see your GP for a shot of tramadol. You could also try gastrostop which is also avail over the counter

I am STILL having stomach pains (they're right up under my chest, very painful!!)

I went to the Dr yesterday, he said take some buscopan (I have, it did not help at all!) and he said if it doesn't go away by tomorrow (sunday) to go see him again as it may be my gallbladder... eek.

Has anyone else had something similar - thought they had a tummy bug and it ended up being gallbladder?

Yup but mine started out as nausea and very quickly progressed to pain worse than labour which saw me in the back of an ambulance on my way to hospital. A good dose of morphine and tramadol made it go away.

eek... I just don't know what to do... I'm paranoid it is my gallbladder now... I guess I'll do what the dr said and I'll go see him tomorrow if the pain is still there. (the pain doesn't seem to be progressing either way... its not getting better but its not getting worse... its just there! if it gets worse today i'll go to the doc today). so over it. this has been a terrible week!
