    Swine Flu

My sister has got it after catching the train & a bus to QLD last week (up & back on Friday).

A bit scary being so close to home...very scary.

How is she going with it?

    Has she had anti-virals?

eeeekkk not good, I found out today from a nurse that comes to our playgroup we have 7 confirmed cases since last week in our little town. I'm a little freaked out by it, just because I have bubs on board!

My MIL is suspected of having it - they visited Blake and I in Hossy on sat and she started feeling sick on Sunday night/Monday...hopefully my b.milk will help Blake stay healthy? She is on Tamiflu and results on Thursday...

I have no idea if they gave her anything. Mum came to the door to pick up her dog after taking my sister to the hossy, but got the dog & ran so the kids couldn't get too close.
I'm glad my sister went home when she got back TBH. She's been staying at mum's since finishing tafe 2 weeks ago, but went home to start packing to move. If she hadn't gone home, she would've definetely been here at some stage before we found out.

    Yikes!

I don't know whether to be freaked out or not. On one hand they say 99% of people who have the flu this winter have swine flu, which makes it just seem like seasonal flu. But then you hear reports of young, otherwise healthy people and pregnant women dying and its terribly scary.

I get a bit worried about the possible second wave of it- they say in the Spanish Influenza outbreak, the first round wasn't much to be worried about and everyone though it had gone, but then the second wave was the really deadly, horrible one.

The whole thing gives me the creeps.
