Over the years I have had countless ear infections which have caused a mild hearing loss in both ears and now a pressure imbalance

Everytime something is just a litte too loud or I sneeze etc my ears go all funny and pop. I went to the Dr about it last week and he said that I could get tubes put in my ears as they look "gummy" My first reaction was NO but it is very annoying.

What is the procedure like.. Does it hurt? Do they put you under? My ears don't hurt but when they pop at least 30 times a day it's kind of wearing a little thin! It's something I'll consider if it's not too dramatic.
