    De ja vu

Today I had the strongest sense of de ja vu. I was putting on my jacket and I had a flash of doing this action before, on my way to a picnic in the park (which is where we were going). I feel I remember having that experience as a premonition some time ago, but dismissed it because it was all too unfamiliar. But today I know I didn't recognize the premonition as a prmonition at the time because I didn't know then we would be in a new area (we just moved). Argh can't explain. Too weird.

Anyway- just wondering if anyone has any theories about de ja vu.

    TIA

I've experienced exactly the same thing as you...

You've explained Deja vu better than I could have. It's a premonition (usually in your dreams) of something that will happen to you.

You usually don't remember it until it's happening.

    Freaky huh?

I get it all the time and it freaks me out. I hope someone can say why it happens!

I get that quite often too, usually I'll be doing something then get the feeling that I've done it before, and it's so hard to pin it down, almost like the more you think about it the faster it drifts away, a bit like trying to remember a dream.

I get it quite a bit too, i remember when we first moved here i had a strange feeling that half of a day had played out exactly as before, but that was impossible as we hadn't long been here.

I would love to hear of any more... it's always interesting.

    Re: De ja vu

I get Deja vu occasionally... But usually only about trivial situations. I remember my first episode... I was about 10yo... Life was good, simple, it was before my parents split, no drugs or mental illness. It was simply about standing in a certain place at a certain time and having a discussion possibly about playing a game or a doll. I'm open to brain malfunctions or the metaphysical although it doesn't feel like a premonition... For me they are entirely different and do involve more important issues. I had a premonition about my DHs name when I was also about 10yo... A kind of knowing that the name would be significant (DH and I hadn't met) but not sure how. Nothing like the Deja vu feeling.
