Do You See Spirits?

Im curious how people see them! I see them as i would see any of you standing before me, but i know people who see them differently.

How do u see them?

(or if you sense them, tell me how you sense them!!)

yes we have a couple of visitors that come and go around our us all the time. At the moment we have an older guy popping his head in. We don't seen all of him, just a flash out of the corner of your eye. I know its not just me and DH (who was such a non-believer!) comments on seeing our visitors the same time that i see them. I also have our future child that is with me all the time - a little boy with blonde curly hair!!
My DH usually smells our visitors, rather than feel them like i do. He smells cigar smoke, where as I can't smell it at all ( his G'father smoked them!)
We also have friends whose DS died in a tragic accident at age 10. I feel him and talk to him all the time, even though he passed over 10 years ago. He pops his head up everytime I am around another spiritul person who can feel him, especially when i have had reki, reflexology, osteopath, massage etc. They all describe him to a tea- sitting in the room with us!
My DH was outside one day cleaning up, and he heard his name being called- he thought it was our friends with their other kids- he went to the gate to let them in - and no one was their - he swears that it was our friends son calling out- he absolutely s*it himself and locked himself inside until I got home - now he believes!!!
Now my DS has been playing with his spirit friends since he was a bubba- he used to wake up every night for two hours at a time from when he was 1 until he was 4, and play games with his mates. He would have full on conversations and interact with them- it would drive me balmy as he was soo loud through the baby monitor!!! He is a very perceptive boy and has talked to us about his near death experiences he had when he was born, and his past lives about being buried in the ground before he was born - all this out of the mouth of a nearly five year old.
sorry to rant, but we have heaps of spirits around us and they can be a bit nosiy sometimes. We even had a table of them at out wedding, who showed themselves to a couple of our guests who describe the people they saw exactly the same. We managed to work ot who everyone was as well! t

I haven't seen any myself, it would probably scare me! lol. I often see people's auras though. I didn't know what it was until a while ago, thought something was wrong with me, lol.

Hey girls

Ive had a variety of experiences...mostly shadow figures that i would wake up to in the middle of the night...I was never really alarmed by their presence, but neither was I comforted it by it...the next night when one appeared I simply thought at it "go away" and have not seen them since. I have also been touched by a spirit...on the shoulder, it was the touch of a friend...and I actually thought it was my hubby and when I turned around there was no one there

this subject is fascinating, but I also find it a little overwhelming

I often seen them int he corner of my eye. But I also get some flashes of full visual ones. I sence them more then see them most of the time.

I also believe in Fairies & whiel I don't see them, I can feel where they are if that makes sence.

This is my third try at writing this, I accidently deleted the other two while trying to do a spell check
I was on holidays when my grandmother passed away, she was sick and had good days and bad days where she could understand you, before I left for holidays (I didn't want to go, but everyone said I should) I had a chance to say some special things to her and to say goodbye . One night I had this dream, in it there was a white hazy shape that talked to me , it said "it's ok, I'm ok" I woke straigt up and felt heavy with fear and I was scared to go back to sleep. I ended up drifting back to sleep only to have the vision come back. In the morning I had a phone call to say that my grandmother had passed away during the night!
Another time was when I was on an army camp and I was sleeping in some old barracks. I had woken up feeling cold and heavy and had the feeling that I was being watched, being the scare bear that I am I just pulled the blankets up around my ears, closed my eyes and didn't move, I finally fell asleep. In the morning while we were making our beds a lady from across the walk way from me said " did anyone else see the two ghosts in here last night ? I said no but I think I felt them. she said that they were dressed in old army uniforms not like the ones you wear now, and they seemed to be doing a room inspection. She said that she had sat up in bed because she felt cold and had thought someone had left the door open, but the door wasn't open and the two ghost were walking down the isle towards us. I asked her whether she was scared and she replied "no, I've been visited by spirits before and nothing bad has happened"
Other times that I think that I have been visited by spirits, I have been in a deep sleep and have woken feeling like someone is watching me, I felt goose pimples.
I have walked into peoples houses and have felt uneasy and goose pimply when I have walked into a room, I'll mention it to them and some will say they think they have a ghost in there!
I wish that I wasn't so scared, I would like to know more about them, as my fear is of the unknown, and I think that I may have missed out on a special moment with my grandmother.

I have never thought about when you se things in the corner of your eye that it might be a spirit, it makes sense...I usually just dismiss it as my imagination.

I often see things in the corner of my eye or sense that there is someone in the room but there isn't. I have never thought that I have any kind of 'sixth sense', but maybe I should be more aware of it...

ETA. I have also had dreams of friends/family who had passed away. They are always very vivid and I remember them well when I wake when usually I only remember dreams very vaguely.

odette - that is exactly what i was hoping to read about! i have seen spirits since i was a small child, and they have never "scared" me lol. Except the one i was attacked by (but i have posted that story elsewhere) i contstantly see things in this house, out of the corner of my eye, and once when DP and DD had gone to stay at his grandmothers for the night, i had a few gfs over for the night, and after a few too many wines i wandered to the toilet and saw a little girl with blonde plaits and a party dress skipping down my hallway!! the other girls felt the coldness of her skipping past, but i saw her... i smiled and her, she seemed so happy... probably didnt even know she had passed.

SJ - Auras are a great thing to see, when you know what you're reading you can read a person... i have seen one aura, that was n a spirit, and it was red and black... i dont know exactly what the colours mean, but im assuming that wasnt good!

yogababy - if you can feel a spirit, and you aknowledge it, most time it will leave you be. Lots of times spirits open my front door and come in (i think its one of my spirit guides) i will just say "hi, how are you today?" or i will say "could you please leave" if i dont want a spirit around then (It scares DP, even though his mum and step dad are psychics!! they do channelling, astral travelling, all sorts lol)

FJ - i used to sense them more than see them, until i met my DP. I also believe in faeries, i love my faerie card the best, i feel i get the best reading from them. When i feel they are losing their "energy" i just them out in the garden and the faeries recharge them I have not seen them either, but you can feel their presence. Plus i have 2 resident sprites in the room down the hall, which is where my 2 nephews stay when they are over - they play with Xavier for hours! drives me bonkers... lol

rosehannah - when you get the goosepimples, just sit and meditate (if thats possible!) and sometimes you can tune into them... they may have a message, or they may just have come in with a recent visitor. sometimes when i can only sense a spirit, i will get vision in my head, which will let me know more about them.. and how freaky about the army barracks! Im planning to do a tour of the Fremantle Prison with a psychic... i think that will be quite different!

Kellieem - never dismiss lol! you have seen spirits and with the dreams, what i do (for the ones you cant remember so well) when u wake up (if bubs is still asleep lol)$ dont open you eyes for a few minutes, let your mind wake up, and you will remember your dreams more. They more often than not have a message for you...

I actually had a visit from someone last night. I woke up and there was a young Asian man over DH's side of the bed. I freaked a bit and he left quickly.

I got the feeling he may be related to the landlord that is moving back in and he'd just come to check the place out.

But this is an exception rather than a rule - usually I just feel people's presence.

how freaky gargy! even though i've seen spirits for years, sometimes they freak me out lol!

Im just laying on the couch atm, wrapped up in my blanket (dp and dd asleep in bed) and i can feel something in the room with me... and i only just cleansed my house yesterday!! lol

What do you thihk is the reason that they are around? And where do you think they go when there not freaking us out?

Have you read Allison Dubois' book 'We are their Heaven'? She believes (as do I) that relatives and friends come and visit every now again from that higher plain (Heaven) to see how we are going and help if they can.

I think this is slightly different to the spirit guides/angels/helpers that also visit every now and again. I know this because the energy feels different.

As for the other night, I honestly think this was a relative of our landlord making sure that we are packing up and going LOL. I just wish they wouldn't pop in when I'm half asleep and I wake up thinking that there is someone in the house!

I haven't read her book, but I did see her on a TV show talking about mediums, very interesting.
When I think about heaven I wonder why we don't know more about it and spirits etc. why is it such a mystery that you just have to believe in (or not).
by the way whats with spirits just poping in, if they have come from planet earth in the first place they would know that it scares the hell out of people when you just turn up out of thin air he he.
I am enjoying learning about this topic, and I hope that as I learn more the fear factor will lessen so that I can be open to experiencing more. Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences

Wow! that was really interesting about the army barracks experience rosehannah... you've never told me about that before (I remember you telling me about Nana).

I've never seen a spirit but I am very open to the possibility. I do have feelings about certain places like you described RH but nothing remarkable has ever happened. I consider myself a very open person and intuitive and almost welcome contact but nothing...

Actually there was one thing; once I did a ouija board with about 5 other people (when I was 18, up in Lismore RH) and back then I was more skeptical so I said "ok, just so we don't try to control the glass let's only use the tips of our LITTLE fingers". So we did and after a while the glass started moving faster and faster. We all looked at each other in confusion wondering what was going on and then the glass took a sharp turn and we all lost contact. However the glass didn't go off the edge of the board as expected, it changed direction without any finger contact and came back into the middle of the board and stopped. Now that was pretty weird... it was the start of me re-thinking what I believed about the universe. I wasn't really scared, more fascinated. I stopped being an atheist that night. The next morning the owner of the pub (where I lived with the other people who I did the board with) told us to never do it again or else we would have to move out. She was a practicing Catholic. I respected her and so despite reeeeally wanting to do it again I never did. She told me that the pub (which was very old) had enough spiritual baggage and that it didn't need us inviting more, potentially bad, spirits into it.

That was the first an only contact with anything supernatural. I guess I feel a bit rejected by spirits now that I think about it LOL but I probably should be careful what I wish for! hehe

rosehannah - do u mean why are spirits around me or around us in general?

spirits hang around me because i can talk to them, sometimes they just need t be told that they have passed on, and need to be guided into the white light...

Spirits hang around our plain in general because they have been killed so quickly they dont realise that they do not have a body anymore, that they are just spirit. Or they have stuff they need to sort out before they pass over.

Katnap, I was thinking along the lines of , what are they doing on a day to day basis , can they move around freely like you or I or are they stuck in a particular time frame say like the day they died, are they living in a sort of ground hog day situation. from what I can make out there are different sorts of spirits like you said eg. spirit guides or lost souls, do you think the spirit guide could have been a lost soul once apon a time? Do they evolve? As I sit here thousands of questions pop into my head so sorry if this is a little disjointed.

as far as i've been told, spirit guides are chosen because they are a higher being than "normal" spirits, if that makes sense? They are chosen to help us with our lives, so i dont think they could just be "normal" spirits, if that makes sense? I will ask DP more about this, as his mum has spoken to her spirit guide about tis before... and then i will answer your questions

i have felt them my whole life since i was a little girl. they used to sit on my bed when i was about 7 years old. i feel them but do not see them. sometimes they are quick flashes out of the corner of my eye. i have also astral travelled and come out of my body.

my father recently died (22 august) of a long illness. a couple of days later, sitting on my computer, i could smell him for about an hour. i have also spoken to him in a dream which was very real where he told me he is in a better place and he could breathe again (he had emphysema). he also said he would protect madeleine, my unborn baby and would always watch over her.

i am a strong believer in life on the other side as i have had encounters with others that have passed over. you can't always tell people about the feelings you experience as there is a lot of stigma involved with psychic behaviour however, i find comfort in knowing that i have this gift. i believe everyone has the gift.

i must admit though, it has not been as strong since i have been pregnant which i find interesting.
