Second Trimester: scary pregnancy dream interpretation?
Hello! I'm four months pregnant and over the last month or so have been having the occasional bad dream which wakes me up because I cry out in the night. Generally my pregnancy dreams have been very detailed, vivid and sensory and these bad dreams seem very random. When I try to describe them they do not sound that scary but they are. I would love your thoughts on two in particular:
In the most recent dream, this week I was back at my childhood home on the farm where I grew up and lots of my family were there – siblings, aunties etc. I walked into the kitchen and I remember looking right at one auntie in particular, and she had just found out I was pregnant. Her face really sticks in my mind. Then the dream was filled with miscellaneous family bits and pieces – eating, small talk, bustling around the house. Then at some point I remember something in the dream made me feel tense ... I cannot remember what happened in the dream as it was subtle, like a small occurrence and a feeling. Then the most powerful part of the dream was near the end when I woke up. I was in a car, parked outside, a little away from the house. My Mum and Dad were in the car with me and maybe some other family members. Then I saw coming over the paddocks, up the driveway, a HUGE truck. It was pink. It was a semi-trailer but almost as long as a road train, but it was taller, bigger, like a truck made for a giant. It came literally roaring in, so fast it looked blurry like a speed train and it rushed right past the car, as close as a strand of hair, and I was so afraid it could run over us or clip the car and that my family and my baby, in my belly, would be hurt. I was so afraid but the truck went by so quickly and disappeared into the paddocks behind us. Then shortly after that we heard a huge, bass-like rumble, like thunder. We thought it was the truck again but it was coming from the opposite direction (where the truck came from) and it was getting louder and closer. Then out of thin air all these motorbikes appeared – two long streams of them and they zoomed right past the car, one line on either side and they were so close again like they could hit or clip the car. I was so scared and I was thinking my mum and dad are old and I was worried for them and for the baby. But the bikes went in the direction of the truck and disappeared. We were all stunned and after a few moments mum or dad said in a matter of fact way, ‘those were the bikies’ as though there was a gang near the farm! Then we surmised they were after the truck for some reason and we were safe. But I was too afraid to get out of the car and then I woke up.
I have also had a freaky dream about a black spirit that took up the entire sky. I was somewhere – in a city somewhere – with a group of female friends. They don’t exist in my waking life but in the dream world I knew them well. We were outside on a patio or somewhere like that and we were waiting for another woman, who was like a woman who we knew would teleport to us from somewhere else ... she may have been a leader of something, she had great presence. She had long dark hair. The other women and I linked arms excitedly and her face sort of appeared in front of us. Then that scene was over and it was night and I was walking down a residential street, lots of green leafy trees and lit lampposts and little fences. I was walking with one of the women – maybe the dark haired girl, maybe not. We were chatting. All of a sudden I glanced up and the street in front of us had gone black and completely dark – the lamps had gone off, there were no lights in windows, no shadows, only dark. I was scared and new something was really wrong. The woman and I said something along the lines of ‘we need to get out of here’. Then suddenly this black presence – no shape or form, just a wash of opaque black as big as the sky– it took up the whole street and beyond - swept up and along the street, towards us. Within seconds it was right over us and started entering our bodies through our mouths and ears etc. I knew I had to get the black out of my body immediately, because my baby was in danger and the black could not be allowed to reach my belly. So I thought the only way to get it out was to start exhaling like I was breathing it back out into the street. So I started doing that – exhaling and not swallowing any more air and then I woke myself up screaming!
