    Coeliac Disease & Miscarriage

    Hi Everyone,

I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that has Coeliac Disease (allergic to Gluten) and has had miscarriages?

After having 2 m/c I recently had tests done to see why my body wasn't accepting our babies. Fortunately all the tests came back clear except the dreaded Coeliac one. Our doc said my gluten level was 16 and that she wanted me to go on a strict gluten free diet to get that level down. I have had the disease for most of my life and have been on a gluten free diet but haven't been as strict as I or my doc would like. I have read and been advised that Coeliac Disease can cause m/c and infertility but didn't think it would come to this.

It's just so frustrating... all the time I think that we could have perfectly healthy twins now if I didn't have this stupid disease! It gets me really down some days

Would love to hear from anyone who has this or knows anyone in the same situation.

    xo

    Hi
My aunt had the same issue. She has coeliac disease and had two miscarriages which her doctors blamed on it.
Her second son's placenta was also very, very small when he was born at full term which they said could also have been a result of it as well.
But the good news is that she has two healthy boys so don't give up hope. I hope next time works out better, I'm sorry you lost your twin babies. Take care.
