Oh lots if hugs and love xoxo
Perplexie I understand completely where you are, until anyone can prove otherwise you are pregnant , viable or not.
In December last year we had our first positive test at 14 days post transfer and had slow hcg of 23, I was told then it wasn't going to be viable but had to have bloods done second day i had a brown discharge most of the time. My levels increased over the next week to just over 700 but should have been way up in the thousands by then.
I decided to actually enjoy the fact that we had finally gotten pregnant after a long ivf journey only to end up having a huge bleed, ended up in hospital and levels had gone right down, my body sorted it out all by itself and I didnt need any drugs. We had also had a scan at around 5.5weeks and they found nothing. All my home tests still showed up for weeks until my levels got down to 2.
I am sorry I am not sharing something more positive but as I had a very similar experience I thought I would share it. It is the hardest place to be in because you just want to know so you can deal with whatever the outcome is good or bad. I hope you are like others I read about where things turned out for the best. Sending you a huge hug xoxoxox thinking of you.
So sorry kerbear
It's a hard spot to be in. :-( this bub was conceived without clomid unlike our last pregnancy.
So over waiting... So impatient.
Hope they stop the blood draws soon.
Perplexie it is the hardest and emotional place to be in and I hope that you levels go up well and they can stop making you a pincushion soon. I am here for you if you need to chat just on me xoxox
I meant pm me oops :-)
How early did everyone have their scans and actually see something?
With my DD I was 4w5d when I seen the gestational sac and about 6w when we saw her little beany body and heart beat.
The scan I had a week ago, (5weeks) we saw nothing. Possibly thickened uterine lining but otherwise uterus was empty. I'm hoping my numbers go up for them to give me a quick scan over to see if there's any thing in my uterus as I'm getting more & more concerned this pregnancy will end up in surgery or methotrexate injections and heartache. I'm supposed to be 6w 2d today so should they see something tomorrow at my appointment? I suppose not with my low ish hcgs...
:'( feeling really disheartened with this pregnancy outcome. I really don't want to lose this baby as it will be our last pregnancy ever.
They should definately be able to see something at your scan. And *possibly*, but not always, a heartbeat. It is around 6w that the heart starts beating so dont stress if there is a bub measuring to dates but no/ slow hb.
With my loss I had a very early scan and before he started the tech said it might be too early (4w2d). So it is possible at 4w5d it was too early to see anything. Not that Im an expert.
I think it depends on the HCG. They told me the HCG had to be at least 1000 to be able to see something in a scan. I had slow rising HCG last year with my pregnancy that ended in a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks (numbers got up to about 18000 by 8 weeks by baby's size, but I was officially 10 weeks by AF). Bub was 2 weeks behind the whole time. I had an ultrasound at about 6 weeks (HCG was under 1000), should have been able to see the heart beat by then, but nothing. They also wanted to check if it was an ectopic pregnancy. The week after they saw a beating heart. The ultrasound specialist was negative from the start about our little one as the embryonic sac seemed very small. The first appointment at the obstetrician he thought it wouldn't last a week and a week later had a scan and bub was gone. We were prepared for the worst from the beginning, but as the baby grew and there was a heartbeat we had hope as well. I did not have any bleeding.
I know this is another negative story, but it doesn't mean this happens with your pregnancy. I have been following your posts and have been keeping my fingers knees and toes crossed for you that you're little one will be a sticky one. Hugs, honey.
See that's the thing. My last hcg test done 3 days ago was only 84. I have a repeat tomorrow but for nearly 6 weeks, shouldn't it be up around the 1000 mark at least?
I am so confused and overwhelmed with the way this pregnancy is turning out. :-( I hope I get some answers tomorrow. I'm physically and emotionally exhausted from this long winded beta hell journey.
By 6 weeks they should definitely be able to see something. If they can't see anything they really need to work out why.
Sounds like you need someone who is really listening to you and will advocate for you to find out exactly what is going on. Is there somewhere else you can go to get all this checked out??
Not really hun... The hospital I need to go to looks after high risk pregnancies (and with my pregnancy history I'm classed as high risk already...) There isn't another hospital that will see me and not send me back to this current hospital. My gp is also advising me to stick it out at that hospital but said you will probably know more in the next couple of weeks! Are you kidding me? Weeks? I can't wait that long to know what's happening.
I wish there was a doctor/hospital that could tell me what was going on or put my mind at ease. I'll be speaking to a doctor tomorrow and voicing my concerns and hope that they listen...
It sucks bad enough being in limbo, but it's even worse to feel like you're not being heard. I'd be very worried about an ectopic (especially since they couldn't see anything on the scan at 5wks) and I'd at least push to have them re-check for that tomorrow. It's all well and good to "wait it out", but you have to make sure there are no risks first.
That said, I hope all is well and that you get the happy surprise of some good news tomorrow.
Thanks hun. Yeah I'm worried about ectopic too.
Id rather know because I am home alone with my DD and I am so scared I will have a rupture in my sleep or something...
I am going to push for a scan tomorrow because surely by 6 weeks something should be visible there
I really need a plan. I don't think I want my hcg levels read anymore but I know they will want to until something shows up on scan.
