How long would you wait?

Okay, so I went for a scan at 8 weeks and there was no heartbeat, the ob/scanner said it had passed at approx 6 weeks....I really would like for a natural miscarriage to occur rather than to have a D&C...

So today I would have been 10 weeks.....

How long should I wait....I really want things to start moving so we can start TTCing again but if I have to wait a bit longer instead of going for a D&C then I am happy to do it.

Have you heard of people who waited for a really long time?

I have another doctor's appointment this afternoon to discuss, but was keen to hear some real-life experiences...

I am sorry to hear you are going through this.
With my m/c I waited a week from the time I knew I m/c to actually starting to bleed. Once it started it didn't stop for 10days and I felt like everything passed during this time. I then ovulated as normal that new cycle but didn't fall pregnant although I still tried or didn't prevent.

I have worked with a woman (me the midwife she was the patient) who refused a D&C despite Drs strongly advising her. She was 16weeks and it took another 5 weeks for her to deliver bub from the time she knew. Everything went very well for her despite the long process. She was the longest I have seen wait. If emotionally I could handle the wait I would wait also. But its very hard when you want to get on with ttc or the emotional pain of knowing its not over and this influences alot of peoples decisions to have a D&C rather then wait to see what happens and in some situations a D&C is needed anyway. Wishing you the best possible outcome in such a difficult time.
