MTHFR or Methylene-tetrahydrofolate reductase

Hi Girls

I have had a number of m/c while ttc #1 and have recently tested positive as a carrier for MTHFR - has anyone else got this?

How was it treated, how long before you were able to TTC again?

My last m/c was in May of this year and I had hoped to be ttc again next month - now I am worried that this has been pushed even further back.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There

I am sorry to hear of your losses. They discovered during my last pregnancy that I had the MTHFR abnormality as well.

Mine was discovered when I was past 30wks and was the reason that my babies stopped growing around the 30wk mark. They did say though that next time I fell pregnant I would have to be put onto baby asprin straight away to prevent clots. I didn't go onto asprin with my last pregnancy as I was too far gone to worry about it, but I had to take high doses of Folate and Vitamins B6 and B12 for the remainder of my term.
