When someone takes your babys name....(after you m/c)..how would you feel?
Whenever the anniversary of my baby loss arrives I always think about my friend's child and the name that she carrys. My friend and I were pregnant at the same time and I ran into her in the shopping centre a few weeks after my loss. She asked me what names I had chosen and I had told her the babies name we had chosen.
When her baby was born she took the name for her daughter. I was devastated. Now she is 13 years of age and I cannot help feel resentment. She did go on to tell me that they named their daughter in honour of the baby we had lost.
We were not able to have any more children and I still feel angry, esp when anniversary of our loss arises.
How would you feel?
It happened to me, although I couldn't directly tell my friend - just tried to steer her towards another name. It was a boys name, and I went on to have two girls, so I guess that was all part of the grand universal plan, but I remember that deep grief when I first found out she was considering it.
A similar thing happened to me only with dates, a friend and I found out we were pregnant a day apart and I went on to m/c and she went on to have an elective c/s on my babies due date. Not exactly something she could help but I can't help but be sad on her child's birthday because of what might have been, having said all that I have two amazing babies and one on the way so I can't be to sad
