Oh Hun, as i was reading what others wrote i was hoping that you wouldnt look up molar pregnancies....i was thinking the same thing but i dont think you need to go there unless you really need too! Julie I hope the best for you tomorrow. I hope they can resolve things for you. I think I told you that with my ectopic they never really found the pregnancy conclusively so I know your frustration. Have they discussed methotrexate with you as an option? It allows your body to reabsorb the tissue and your hcg levels will often decrease on their own after. I will be thinking of you.

I am back from the D&C. There was a small (1cm I was told) piece of tissue left which could have been causing my HCG to slowly rise. This tissue has been sent to the lab and by Wed I should know everything there is to know about this pregnancy (if it was molar, etc). My FS is fairly optimistic that it was not molar and that it was this tissue causing my problem. I'm a worrier so there's no optimism here - but I am very, very relieved to have the procedure behind me and to know that by Wed I'll have the answers to what has been going on with my body for the past 4 weeks.
I think this has been one of the most trying experiences of my life. I kind of lost the plot last night after reading up on molar pregnancy last night and it took my DH 30 minutes to calm me down. He has been truly amazing (he has also just fessed up to being completely drained by this as well - he hides his feelings very well). He joked - where's my bellybelly support! I told him there's a men's thread...definitely not his thing, but he laughed.
My FS has also been very compassionate. I SMSed her at 9:45pm last night at the start of my freak out and she called me right back.
So I guess it is wait & see...but I do want to reiterate how lovely you all are and tell you that each post and PM helped.
Julie, a big :hug: first. Sorry you had some scary time last night but glad now it is all over, hope D&C put a complete end to this loss and you can start over real soon. Wed can't come sooner and I hope it will be comforting news...but for now, just take it easy and be kind to you and DH (poor thing, they always hold up better than they actually are so need some acknowledgement of their underlying emotions from time to time I guess...) I am sure you've been through the toughest part....

Just wanted to pop in and offer my support to you as fellow "oldie". I had to have a D&C 2 weeks ago myself after the bleeding from the loss of my little boy hadn't stopped after almost 4 weeks. So I understand where you are at the moment a little I think. Take the time to recover physically and emotionally. Both you and DH have been through so much recently :hug: I really hope that the test results give you the answers that you need. Take care hun.

Julie, glad to hear things went OK :hug: You know, my ob said to me after my D&C that he was pretty sure that it was not molar - I was a bit worried too - and he turned out to be right. I'm sure they must be able to tell by the look of the tissue or something, I don't really know. If your FS is fairly sure it won't be a problem, I'd try not to worry too much. Take it easy over the weekend and make sure DH looks after you, although sounds like he needs a little looking after himself. Poor blokes get a bit forgotten in all of this I guess, my DH didn't tell me until much later how hard it all was on him :( He's good at hiding it too.
It's great that they found some tissue - a molar pregnancy looks different visually - so it is HIGHLY likely that what was found is tissue and that was the cause of all of this. I look forward on Wednesday to hearing the good news that you can move forward... :hug:

Flowerchild - please don't feel bad and there's no need for you to apologize. I asked for what people thought it COULD be and you answered - and I'm glad you did (I have read many of your posts and I know that you are a very caring person). My FS also mentioned molar pregnancy as a possibility much earlier in the day when I asked her to list out the full range of things it could be - I just forgot to look it up. I'm an information-aholic - this is the price I must pay at times and I accept that.
Chez67 - I'm sorry about your loss - unfortunately, so many fellow bellybelly-ers understand exactly how we feel.

I am glad to hear you are back home and able to start recovery. I know waiting for answers is hard but it sounds like you have good support at home too. Take care of yourself and do something special for yourself you deserve it!
Oh Julie, I have only just caught up to where you are at. This is SOOOOO not what you need right now. After 3 episodes of retained product post m/c and verying other complications, I truly know how awful this must be for you. If its not bad enough to lose a precious baby, to have the physical suffering drag it all on is like toture.
I am glad they found something at your D&C and praying that is the end of the story for you.
Just be aware, it may still take awhile for HCG levels to drop fully. Mine usually took at least 8 weeks

Big hugs julie...glad they found some tissue and I do so hope you can soon start to heal and move forward. I know how horrible this has been for you and I really understand how it feels after my experience with the ectopic...which wasnt diagnosed until after I had been told I'd miscarried and had a D&C- it feels like two losses in the one hit and you are on an emotional rollercoaster of loss and fear and anxiety. So sorry you have had to experience all this. Be easy with yourself...glad you have the support ofyour DH. thinking of you xx

Well, despite the fact that I've promised DH 6 times I won't do any more internet research, I have and I think I'm finally learning some stuff that is giving me a tiny bit of hope that this won't be molar:pray:
It seems like partial molar is caused by penetration of the egg by 2 sperm. Well, we had ICSI - so unless the lab made a horrendous mistake, I would think this is impossible for us.
And if it was fully molar, the icky stuff that came out during all my bleeding would have had a very particular appearance...and although this is gross, I examined most of what came out. Also, I know that the lab told my FS that they thought they had some tissue to work with (I collected some of the stuff and brought it to my FS). If it was a full molar, from what I've read, there would be no fetal tissue at all.
In case this is confusing - I'm waiting for 2 lab results - the first has been pending for 3 weeks and is on the stuff that I collected and bought in - results on this expected Monday. The 2nd is from the D&C and results expected on Wed. Not sure why the first is taking 3 weeks and the 2nd can be done in less than a week...but this is what I've been told.
