Blighted Ovum

As the title suggests my last pregnancy was a Blighted Ovum (BO - I'm sick of writing the whole stupid word). So I have a few questions ...

Ok, who's had one? Did you have another one or did you have a successful pregnancy after said BO? How long did you wait to TTC (my OB said there is no evidence to go against TTC immediately) - I am extremely lucky in the fact that I seem to fall pg the first cycle I TTC ... but this seems much too soon for me at the moment, so I think I will be waiting as least 1 full cyle.

I had one in November
We will be waiting (we weren't actively trying to begin with).

If I was inclined to try straight away, i'd wait for my first 'regular' cycle after the miscarriage. I had a 'regular' cycle on 15.12.12, so if I wanted too, I would be trying now.

I had one in March "10" is was a surprise bubba, but I just couldn't bring myself to try for six months, we had successful pg even though I had him 4 weeks early.

Nikki - I had 2 in a row earlier this year.
Dr thinks mine are due to gestational thyroid, although I had never had issues with my thyroid before becoming pregnant. We were told to wait one cycle after D&C to try again. We actually were 'trying' as such, but happened to fall pregnant both times quickly after each other.
I was sooo ready to have to go through another just to prove the dr's right and get some action, but I'm also very happy to be proven wrong!
I am now 20 weeks pregnant and started thyroid medication at approx 6 weeks, so I wonder IF it really was my thyroid, but all my blood tests during this pregnancy have shown there's an issue.
Blighted ovums are cruel, but don't let anybody tell you your weren't pregnant because you most certainly are/were!

Hi Nikki, I'm sorry to hear of your m/c. I haven't had it myself, but my SIL had a blighted ovum, then she conceived her DS a month or two later, then had another blighted ovum when her DS was 12 months. I think she will need IVF with her second child because my brother has some big issues with the swimmers. GL hun xx

Hey honey! So sorry to hear about the blighted ovum pregnancy. I haven't had one but one of my girlfriends did and waited one cycle after her m/c and conceived a healthy happy little boy no problems.

Sorry for your loss hun, I hope you are taking the time you need to help you through this.

My very first pregnancy was a BO way back in 1996. I was 10 weeks and had to have a D n C which was very traumatic and sad at the time. I conceived 3 months later and my first DS was born exactly one year to the day of my D n C. So I now remember the day with happiness instead of sorrow.
I went on to conceive another 4 times with no issues at all and I hope this is the case for you too xxx

Almost identical for me. 10w6d, ended in a D&C, waited one cycle because we were told too and I also didn't feel ready, fell next cycle.

I found it really hard. I still feel sad about it. Be kind to yourself - grieve your loss. All the best

So sorry to hear of your loss.

My SIL had a BO a couple of years ago. She told by her Ob it was best to wait a cycle then TTC again. She had a healthy baby boy within a year.
