Waiting to miscarry

I am going to see my GP this evening and am going to ask for a D&C, I just don't think I can handle the waiting. So will see what he says. Not sure if he will want to go against the Specialist, but I dont really care what he wants at this point.

Smegs, I am thinking of you and sending you lots of ((hugs)). I think you need to go with what you are feeling at the moment. It is you going through this, not your specialist.

Hey Smegs - sorry things are taking this time for you. Its a hard wait. And I think the longer it goes on, the harder it is.
Did you enquire re: the medication you can take that will speed things up? I can't remember the name of the one they gave me, but it was 2 pills that form part of the abortion combined pill, and they are inserted in your vagina. It really gets the ball rolling so to speak.

I just so dont know what to suggest for you. I think deep down you know what you have to do. Neither is the easy option - both have their pain but i think the level of finality of a D&C is somewhat reassuring.

I am very sorry for your loss.It totally sucks that we have to go through this, nature can be so cruel at times. I had a blighted ovum, discovered at 8 weeks 3 days and was given a choice of a d&c or to let it happen naturally. I opted for a d&c because i just felt I wanted it to be out of me so I could get on with the healing process. Unfortunately with the first d&c they didn't manange to get everything and so 5 days after I began bleeding and cramping which resulted in me having a 2nd d&c a week ago today. By the time I went into theatre I was passing clots and in quite a bit of pain.I found that to be fairly harrowing and was relieved when they took me to theatre. For me, if this was to happen again I would still opt for a d&c, but i think it's an entirely personal decision. I will say that I have found the whole experience to be quite draining esp. having to have 2 GA's.After both my d&c's I had no pain except for when I first woke up which was like bad period pain.I've had no pain and very little bleeding since. I was put on anibiotics which has resulted in a disgusting case of thrush, I even have it in my throat (eeewwww) due to being so run down from the procedures. Anyway, that's my experience. I hope everything goes ok for you no matter what you decide and my thoughts are with you. :hug:

Thats so weird cus thats exactly what happened to me. and exactly 5 days after my supposed d&c I had the same thing happen.. ((hugs)) I know what you went through. Luckily for me though I didn't need a second d&c

Well I saw my specialist this morning, he still wasn't keen on a D&C but he saw that I was not coping too well so I am having one on Thursday. Now I am scared that I am doing the wrong thing and I should just wait! I guess there is no easy way to deal with all this is there?

I have a question, how long is it before the pregnancy symptoms start to go away?

Smegs, I fouund that it took about two weeks for my hormones to calm down. I didn't have a great deal of other symptoms, but those I did have took less than a week to disappear. I hope that helps! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.
