Riley's FDC lady has no more than 5 kids at a time (her own are all at high school or uni) and was only allowed one under one.
I bet you could easily find clients just from your local school, as I said heaps of women are looking for short day care.
HOPRAH I wasnt saying that just because I have six children I qualify better than anyone who doesn't. I have been a mother since I was 16, I am sure that is enough experience with children, I had my second child at 18, so yeah I know what I am doing by now lmao.

christine you are blessing in disguise to me swetheart and I am ging to put that out there by next Monday, I relly need to start. Any suggestions on how I can get the word out besides telling the few mothers i speak to? Hm maybe i could start of with a little advertisment in the local shop which is right next door to the school? I would rather older childern to be honest, then I dont feel so guilty to Pheeny.
Soul, ring the local schools and see if they allow paid adds in their newsletters. We do, it only costs a couple of dollars, say you are able to care for children in the holidays too as they are only a week away (thank goodness LOL)
Just popping in two cents if you dont mind... I was a nanny for 14 years till I had my own kids. I did it here and o/s,. and still work pt for an old family I looked after, and I get to take my own kids.
There is one huge shortage and that is after school care ( that is what I do for my family ) as it is really hard to get that say 3 hours per night. If you read the calssifieds in you local paper , sometimes they advertise there, or you can go thru a nanny agency, who will take their cut and it wont be able to be cash in hand, and that is generally in the home of the family. Again you can "spread the word" as once you do you will be amazed who is looking for some home help. You will have to have a childrens first aid cert and a police check, and that is more to cover yourself should anything arise, not saying it will but these days you need to cover your back! a Qualified nanny gets somewhere from 18- $25 an hour, night time babysitting is also a good way to get extra cash if you can do it, ie your partner can be at home with yours while you go out to watch someone elses, and they are generally asleep so its easy money , for that you should get around $ 10- $12 an hour and then $1 an hr extra after midnight. Good luck and I hope it goes well for you, but really once tyou spread the word you will be amazed at who will pop out of the woodwork and say they want some one. Also contact your local Child maternal health centre and just ask if you can put up a ad there as you might get some new mums who really need some help!

cessie sweetness your very input is very welcomed. I haven't put the word out there by mouth or shop wondow or school yet because I wanted this week to be getting myself and my house together, a big spring clean so to speak and am doing well. I needed to paint a room and have done that, so now its just getitng rid of things I dont need around the house, Hubbie thinks I am mad but I see it as - I want my house to be the way I would want it if I left my kids at someone elses place, does that make sense? I have decided after my sweetie christine suggested to do the after care baby sititng that way I still get to study and spend one on one time with my little boys.
I am just worried I will not make enough money as I would have if I had baby sat all day long kwim?
I want leave my children of a ight to go mind other peoples children, if they were all older I would, but I have three young ones, the older three would be ok, but I am still breast feeding my 6 month old and my 3 year old is still clingy so not leaving him either. Great suggestion though, I might offer to baby sit of a night on weekends here in my house though, its big enough!
Yes I know what you mean about having your house together, mind you I am still trying to get mine together!! ( only taken me five years! ;0) .
