FDC - need reassurance please!

Well Miss B starts with her day care mum tomorrow night for the 1st time from 5pm-8pm - we are starting a week early so i can get use to it and her 1st night isnt on my 1st night at uni, also DH and i are going to use it so we can go to dinner together for the 1st without her!
So my worry is - its only occassional care usually from 5pm-7/8pm 1 day a week but not ever day - the Day care mum told me today that on the thursdays we need care her daughter has soccer training so she will need to take B with her - we have never let anyone else drive with Miss B in the car or anyone else take her anywhere - let alone of a night time!
Someone please tell me she will be fine!
I do like her Day care mum and im looking forward to it all but this has me so nervous and worried!

My friends' mum worked as a FDC provider and she would take the kids on little field trips once a week. I'm pretty sure there are very strict guidelines for who can become a FDC provider too
Just make sure that she has an approved carseat for Miss B and that it is fitted correctly. I'm sure if she has her own daughter in the car, she isn't going to drive like a maniac and put your daughter at risk. Maybe you could ask to see her certificate of currency for her motor vehicle insurance to check she is comprehensively insured (my sister required this to work as an aged care nurse when visiting clients as she can take them shopping etc) however I'm not sure how she would react to this.

hun I'm sure it will all be fine.
Being a FDC mum they do this all the time. Has she had kids at night before? I know they have quite extensive checks etc.

And you could ask the DC mum to call or text you to let you know everything is ok... will put your mind at ease. xx

Belle - a friend of mine is has her as a day care mum for her daughter and she is happy with the way she drives, and ur right she has her own daughter so she won't drive like a lunatic!

she mentioned she has had a kid stay over night once - but Miss B isn't staying the night! i guess im also worried about her losing my girl or not keeping an eye on her and she gets kidnapped! silly isn't it!

Hun. It's not silly at all!! Your her mum it's normal to worry! If she's a good day care mum she will do whatever she can to make it a smooth transition for you also.

My FDC lady takes 4 infant to 4 year olds in the car every day to pick up the 3 school aged kids she has for after school care. (she has a big van fully fitted with appropriate child restraints which is checked once a month by her field worker).

there will be a form you will have to fill out to say you give permission for your daughter to go aswell. and you are not aloud to take kids int eh car unless your car has been checked and seated fitted properly by a rta registered person.
so aslong as she has the permission form and the RTA certificate everything will be fine.
