2.5yeras old and knows what to do.

    HI All

Our lovely monster is 2.5years old and knows about TT, when she goes to daycare (2 mornings a week) she hardly ever wets her knickers but at home we are still having lots of accidents. And to make it worse at home now, she will stomp in it!!

So my question is - do you think she is being naughty to get attention or is it just a stage and I have to persevere. My munchkin is a smart little cookie so Im wondering if it is a reaction to me being pregnant.

Also - I cant get her to do poos on the loo, she will hold on until her nappy goes on at bedtime before doing a poo. Any ideas?

Are you into bribery? worked wonders for us, still does for many things. Stickers and choc buds worked for us.

Mimo, Jack is very similar. He goes several times a day at day care, but at home it is hit and miss. I still have him in nappies because he has too many accidents in undies. He also doesn't poo in the toilet much at all, only very rarely. I think your dd sounds normal and I don't think it's attention seeking. I suspect they are better at day care because of the other kids there that use the toilet - they are such followers at that age.

I think you have two choices. Firstly, keep her in nappies at home for now, and try full TT a little bit later. Secondly, do what Lucy and some others have tried (there are a few posts around), and just do nothing for a few days. Stay home, and spend all your time with her, asking her constantly if she needs to go to the loo. Lots of people I know IRL and on BB have had success with this.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

why don't you try putting her nappy on at night then popping her on the loo WHILE she is wearing the nappy? After a few days, take it off again, OR, try cutting the bottom out of it, so she still has the waistband on but nothing to catch the poo in - might help the transition? Also, what about a smaller potty - it's a better position for the bowels as the knees are higher. good luck
