Girl wanting to wee standing up

Lucie is 2.5 and Ned is TT at the same time too. Lucie is doing magnificently and has hardly had an accident at all and is in nappies only overnight now. She has seen DH go to the toilet and him showing Ned how to stand and wee (Ned usually sits down to wee but sometimes will try standing up). ANyway about once a day, Lucie will want to do her wee standing up (over the potty). I am trying to explain that boys wee standing up and girls sitting down but it's a pretty tough concept for her to grasp. What should I do? Do I just not make a big deal of it and hope that she will just try a few times and then resort to sitting? She's never asked to wee standing up when we are out, maybe it's just experimental?

Maybe can you let Lucie see you going to the toilet sitting down? WOW at little Ned using the toilet too!!! Just think life without nappies lol!

my dd did this when she was learning to be nappy free... lol... only did it a couple of times, and then decided that it was easier for her to wee sitting down. I agree with Jo - let her see you go to the toilet as often as you feel comfortable with (don't know about you, but sometimes the toilet is the only place where I can have some "ME" time with out interuption lol) It is just her experimenting.

Emily did this too - she never actually wee'd standing up but wanted to. I explained that her wee would most likely end up on the floorinstead of in the toilet! LOL

Sorry i have no advice for you...(i dont think)..
But i just HAD to say, when i was little (just finished TT)..and i think my brother was TT at the time...i took an interest in doing it standing up I tried it twice. First time successful second time, not so (and yet I didnt attempt again!)

So maybe...if she is so interested in trying it..let her try it and when she realises its not as easy and successful as it is when sitting down, she will not feel the want or need to do it standing up again.

My DD would experiment with different ways of going to the loo, standing , sitting sideways, sitting backwards facing the flush button, lifting the rim and sitting, stand on the seat and pee, squat on the seat and pee. Mostly now she sits normally at 4 1/2.

Thanks heaps guys. She hasn't been wanting o do it for a few days so I think that yeap it's just experimental. She does see me go to the toilet (they both follow me like my shadow - cute but it would really be nice to actually be able to go to the loo in peace LOL!). I'll just go with the flow I think 'cos she's doing so well. Thanks!
