How long do they hold on?

We're day two of the three day potty training and my DD has the most incredible control. Yesterday her nappy came off at 8.30am and she didn't go to the toilet, despite a lot of drinks, until 6.30pm last night. She wet the bed at around 2am and then nothing until she had a wee accident at 1.30ish today. Huge amount of holding on for a little girl.

She's sound asleep atm, but no doubt recouping her batteries to fight me later (she will try everything to not wee in anything but her nappy). We're going gently with her and sticking by the guide.

How long can/does your LO hold on for? DD's willpower is freaking me out!

I wish it was possible that she's sneaking off, but I've been by her side 24/7 since nappies have been off. Slept in her room last night and she's right beside me now.

I am also amazed at how long my DS1 can hold on. I tell people he has the bladder of the United States. He can go from 6-7pm through to 11am. I now make him go to the toilet as soon as he takes his PJ's off. I have know idea how he can't be busting to go when he wakes up.

It's pretty intense! Today was a shorter time between a wee accident and a wee on the potty but it was still 5 1/2 hours!!! Yesterday I think I went 10 times to her one lol!

DD1's control is too good for her own health. She can do a wee at about 6.30 pm at night, go to bed, sleep the entire night and then get up the next morning to have breakfast and still last until about 10.30 am before she goes to do a wee. She definitely doesn't sneak out to do one anywhere else and she drinks a ton of water - just has incredible control. As a result though when she is being stubborn about going to the toilet often enough (as in before she goes to bed at 7.30 pm and immediately she gets up in the morning) she can get a bit sore, and has had one UTI.

My DS has held on for hours too!!! I was a bit worried for the poor kid coz i thought it was dangerous!!! I remember one day he had gone all night and most of the day, I kept asking if he needed a wee and he just didnt!! Then finally that afternoon he piped up with Mummy I need a wee and did the biggest wee!!!!! Now he is more relaxed and confident in his TT i just trust that when he has to go he will go!!

:O wow, that is some serious bladder holding!

I thought it was a question about going out to the shops etc.... I had no idea some of them could hold on that long!

Yes my dd regularly does 13 or 14 hours, and has been known to go longer.

Some kids are just like that it seems. As long as the wee isn't dark it's ok.

Good luck with the toilet training. At least you know she's more than ready if she can control it so well.

Okay. Today was a 22 hour stint. She weed at 6.30 last night and then nothing until just before 5pm.

I was tearing my hair out.

But since then she's had three accidents so I'm really really hoping that the power struggle has been broken and we can move on.
