Hi there,

After chatting to my Mum the other day (who swears she had all 4 of her babies toilet trained by 18 months), I started googling and came across the websites for Elimination Communication (EC) and it really made sense to me. Especially the part about the age for TT being pushed from 12 months to to 2.5 years by the disposable nappy manufacturers in order to make increased profit!! (Gggrrr). I also think its a great idea for them to just grow up associating the potty /toilet with wees and poos - rather than introduce it when they have fixed habits of pooing and weeing their pants and feel uncomfortable doing something new.

So, can any of you EC mothers out there recommend a good potty for infant toilet training? Bub is nearly 10 months.....and obviously cannot yet walk. I want him to get started this summer. Both he and I have been aware of when he is doing a poo for sometime now - the signs are more than easy to read. I feel that I am wasting time and nappies just watching him poo his pants when I know I could get him on a potty in plenty of time, and allow him to grow whilst associating the potty with poo-time before the hang-ups set in.

Thanks in advance!

PS- this is in no way intended to offend anyone who has started TT later- I am only new to the TT thing myself so I am no expert, but would really appreciate hearing from mothers who have experienced Infant Toilet Training or EC for themselves. Or even if you have not experienced it but can recommend a good small potty- please let me know!
