Dd1 is 2.5. She's been doing the occasional wee and poo on the potty for a few weeks now so I decided to take nappies away yesterday. Between yesterday and today we've gone thru about 20 pairs of undies. I don't get it. She sits on the toilet or potty every half hour. Most times shell do a wee. But then she's still Weeing more in between. She just thinks the undies are a different kind of nappy. When I change her she asks can I wee in this one? I say no this isn't a nappy it's undies, nut she just doesn't get it. And I think she doesn't understand how to hold on.
I don't want to go backwards and put nappies back on but im just not sure Shes getting it just yet
Any advice please ?
She might be ready but just doesnt understand that undies arnt nappies.
DS has been great TT without pants on. He knows when he has to go and if he is naked he is great, not a single accident and he tell sme when he needs to go. We are progressing to wearing just pants. But sometimes with undies on he just kind of forgets that they arnt nappies and thats when we have accidents. Its been a really slow process of getting him to wear clothes and have no accidents. And just this week (one week today) we stopped using a nappy for poo's!! (he is 3 and a bit and we have been doing the TT for about a year now!!!!!)
I would say to try her naked, but honestly, doing that worked yes, but now i have to train him to wear clothes lol so i don't know if thats a good recommendation!! It may be she isnt 100% ready. So just go slow and dont expect too much to start with
DD1 is 2.5 as well. We started when she was 2, and we went naked -> pants without undies -> pants with undies as well. Worked great for us. Hope she learns for you soon, but don't start worrying yet, she is still young.

Look, I'm absolutely no expert on TT as my DD wasn't trained until 3.5 and even now she has accidents.
But, I have heard if you go cold turkey on the nappies it can take a week or more for them to get it. If it's only been 2 days you might find she's still working it out. Also, I've heard you should try not to whisk the undies off her after she wees in them - it's good for her to learn wet undies are VERY uncomfy and therefore it's worthwhile weeing on the toilet/potty instead. (This is something I didn't do with my DD - she was bigger and took her knickers off as soon as she wet/soiled them so she never got that lesson IYKWIM.)
