    Smelly cloth nappies

How do I get my nappies smelling nice again, they just have been washed and they stink badly... Not hanging them out smelling like that...
    Thanks

I just got told to use Dettol the stuff you put on cuts etc, in the rinse section of your washing machine that will take the smell out...

    ack!

what's your washing regime? Do you drypail or soak? How often do you wash? Do you pre-rinse your nappies first or just go for the wash cycle?

If you can do a pre-rinse, then that means the nappies will be washed with clean water. Save the water from a previous load for the rinse if you want to reduce water consumption.

I drypail, and wash every 2 days - I rinse any poo off immediately and put the nappy into the pail with the others.

Finally, hanging your nappies in the sun or frost will get rid of the smell.

If they're terry flats, then do a wash with vinegar in the final rinse (just a capful) which will deodorise and remove any soap residue.

Using sposies is an option, but it does work out an expensive option.

    good luck!

Melham - have you done a stripwash?
