Hi all
DD started TT a few months ago, I didnt think she was older enough but my mum who we live with atm was all "you kids were all toilet trained by 18months, bla bla" so she would put her on the toilet in the mornings & she would do a poo in there, and would be quite keen on going in there, she would put her little seat on etc. She seemed to be really comfortable with it all. She liked to wear knickers but would have little accidents. but she was very confident on going in there. I didnt push it really, Im in no hurry for her to be TT. It wasnt a full time time thing, maby if i did be really onto it she would have go it. But then she was pretty sick afew weeks ago, very bad diorreah (sp?), stomach cramps, 2 hospital visits and after a course of antibiotics bad nappy rash. It was a horrible week and I went thru a whole box of nappys in one weekend to put it into perspective! Now every time she gets a bit of a tummy rumble or passes wind she starts saying "poo poo" and gets quite worried like shes scared its going to hurt. Shes getting a little better now not as worried. She tells me when she needs to do poo's but when i say lets go sit on the toilet then she says no and walks away. I dont want to force her in there, I did one time and she was okay as soon as she sat on the seat, we sang some songs etc and she was telling me "poo" so she needed to go but wouldnt, then she did one as soon as i put a nappy on. She likes to wear knickers still but holds on until she has a nappy on again. Shes very interested if i go to the toilet, like too watch, and tells me im doing "poo" or "wee wee"
What can I do to make her confident again? She deffinatley gets it, shes a really clever kid (drives me insane! she only has to see something once and she knows how to do it!) Do I be a little more pushy? Or let her be? Not that its a big issue but nappys are a cost I could do without as im moving into my own rental again soon, she can do it, she knows whats going on but now she has this fear
