taking toddler to a public toilet

How do you take your little boy toddler to a public toilet without them touching anything? do you kind of hold them over the seat??

i let him sit on the seat..like he would at home then wash his hands really well..

If you have got baby wipes in your bag give the sit a wipe over... Otherwise I have told my kids to wipe the sit with a bit of wet loo paper before they sit...

I try not to fuss too much. I let them sit on the seat the same as if they are at home. I don't want them to grow up being phobic about public spaces.
I'm more concerned with making them wash thier hands really thoughoughly afterwards.

My son has quite good aim so we just stand back further than we do at home i suppose just so he's not leaning his pants on the edge. I always tell him not to touch the toilet and not to worry about lifting the seat up, then i make sure he washes his hands really well. We haven't had to do number 2s in a public toilet yet.
