Could it be the huggies nappies causing the rash?

I normally use snugglers nappies, as they're a good price and they are quite good quality. My IL's brought be a box of huggies nappies and i was kinda stoked, thinking 'woohoo, i get to put the best on my baby' and i remember from the NB size (coz thats what we had to use) that huggies was THEE best. anyway i put a huggies nappy on her and then she came out with this little pimple type rash things where the waste band goes (not on her little bits thank goodness)
Could it be the nappy?
i put snugglers back on her and put some cream on it, they went away (took about a day and overnight to go) then i went up to my MILs place and they only had huggies up there, without really thinking i put it on her and sure enough.. another couple of these pimple type rash things
Could it be huggies? has this happened to anyone else before?
This has never happened with snugglers nappies (or even when i used the babylove ones for a short period)
so annoyed, now i have a whole box i cant use

what is the manufactured date on the huggies nappies? i am sure they had a bad batch when they first bought out the new designs which was about mid 2009.

Complain to huggies. They will give you another box free if this one is faulty but make sure you keep at least 6 to send to them.

Yeah it would be the nappy. Stick to what you know.

If you are after a great nappy have you tired the Aldi ones? They are great, well they were 3 years ago before I switched to cloth.

Hey, My little girl can not wear the Huggies nappies either... Sends her bottom area bright red! But it will dissapear as soon as i put her back in baby love...

I agree with Efjay, Aldi nappies are quite good (i just dont like them for newborns)

Yeah, most definitely could be the nappies. Complain, see if you get a new set, but in the meantime, go with what you know. And I second the Aldi nappies. They just feel so nice, even to hold. Bulky, but in a comfy kind of way.

i gotmixed up, the huggies ones that i used are all from my MILs box, coz i brought s couple home with me after we went to the GC.. maybe its their box? i havent used any from mine yet (thought i had sorry )

i will use some from mine and see what happens (but i dont wanna cuase another rash .. ) and if it causes a rash ill def contact huggies.

efjay, ive never tried Aldis ones, i have heard really good things about them tho. im happy with Snugglers, just annoyed that ive got a whole boz of nappies that i might not be able to use

Sounds like the Huggies to me. I have a GF whose daughter could not wear the Huggies as she would get a rash.
I agree on the Aldi ones. Once my kids got over the NB stage I went straight onto the Aldi. The Aldi NB are too big for a NB so that's why I started on the Huggies.
I also use the Aldi ones overnight and they are great. They also rated really well in the recent Choice Nappies Test, they came second after the Huggies.
If you try one of your Huggies and the rash appears, then you know it's Huggies. You could donate the rest of the box to a Women's shelter or Salvo's.

2 different friends of mine had a similar thing happen to their kids whne in huggies.. itchy up at the back where the waistband bit goes.

It probably is the Huggies. Interestingly we are a Huggies family. I bought some Baby Love as my DD was going through a Wiggles thing and they gave her the most wicked nappy rash ever. I stopped using them let it heal and then back just to check and yep - it was the Baby Love!

Just because the Huggies are the most expensive doesn't mean they are the best for your bub. I think stick with what works for you.

Most mainstrean nappy brands have chlorine, bleach, and other chemicals in their materials.

Perhaps you would like to try the Nature Babycare range? It uses eco-friendly materials, so kinder to skin and the environment. Avail from regular supermarkets.

i guess i shouldnt just assume because they are more expensive that they work best for my baby.
i honestly think ill give Aldi nappies a try, even if i just buy them for my ILs to use at their place instead of the huggies.

Heather, thats a really good idea aout giving them to a womens shelter, but ive got a few friends that might be able to use them so ill check with them first

apparantly pampers are betterv than huggies too, i dunnon i only get snugglers
