We started with Clothe nappies, but we changed to Huggies, when he was first born.. Then we changed to Snugglers.
We used hugggies when he was newborn, have been using "nature babycare" from about 4 months and now moving to cloth :D

for some strange reason I clicked on the link to the cervical cancer vaccine thread & landed here! So I voted. I use cloth.
I use cloth - mostly Greenkids, Baby Beehinds, BumGenius and hemp prefolds.
I keep a stash of Nature Babycare sposies, just in case we run out of cloth nappies, but that only happens 1 or 2 days a month usually.
Proof that every baby is different! Sarah used to leak thru anything but huggies, Em leaks thru huggies but is usually ok in other brands. at the mo we r using babylove but have used: dribots, woolworths select, huggies. I have never seen aldi nappies. Where can u get them?
Ali do you have Aldi supermarkets in SA?That is where you can get them from.
With my twins we are currently using a mix of prefold cloth nappies,huggies and I have just purchased A couple of Greenkids pocket nappies.I love them so will be ordering more in the new year.
We have tried many nappies when the girls were first born the Aldi nappies made the girls too bulky and they use to leak from the Babyloves.We settled on either cloth or snugglers during the day and Huggies at night.

Unfortunately no - they're specific to the Aldi stores. The brand is called Mamia - they're quite cheap and have worked OK for us when we've tried them.
I have just looked on the Aldi website and they are only in the eastern states, Qld, NSW, Vic and ACT. am searching mamia now coz i think i have heard of it
Ds leaked horribly in Huggies. We are now using a mixture of MCN (BBH & Greenkids pockets) & ALDI nappies.
I have started using Teddycare nappies during the day, and huggies at night. I find the teddycare are great, probably nearly as asorbant as Huggies.

Althought I admit huggies as a newborn. Next time we will start straight with cloth.

I brought Bummies prefolds but they are too big for my 6 week old bub and leak. So I have been using Seventh Generation eco friendly nappies and they are great. They are nice and small and I am kinda dreading using the prefolds now! I have also tried Natures Child but found them to be huge on a newborn.
I voted for Baby Love cause I use them most often, but have also used huggies and aldi, and had no real problems with any of them.
Also have a couple of itti bittis which I love but I haven't really made the investment to get a full set....
We're hoping to give cloth nappies a go, have mainly just flats and no covers as of yet, anyone know where we can buy cheap covers as we dont want to be spending too much in case its not for us, also we have bought some disposable liners... is there anything else we need or that anyone can recommend to us that will make things easier?
have a look on buy for baby brunette. they often have covers on sale there!

I saw some covers for cloth nappies in Kmart today for $2.29! Can't get cheaper than that! They were nothing flash, but they weren't that crinkly plastic I think they had at least some cotton in them. Anyway, very very cheap if you're wanting to experiment with cloth without too much of an investment.

as for covers, those cheapo covers are CRAP and a waste of every cent of the $2 you will pay :(
They leak, cause rashes, irritate bubs bum and don't breath at all. A good way to turn you OFF cloth!
I am loving Aldi now after using Huggies for almost a year of DD's life! I liked Huggies, can't really knock them but DD was leaking quite regularly with them, even when I went up a size? Was a bit disappointed. Are they made in China now? I heard something about this. Where were they made before?
I have recently switched to Aldi sposies. They are so absorbent! I do like Huggies but Aldi are 16c cheaper PER NAPPY and that is when Huggies were on special!!
Okkkkk they aren't as pretty as Aldi but I am so amazed at how good Aldi nappies are? Any other Mums who use Aldi and love them as much as us?
Wow Debbie, that is cheap! I have NEVER seen Huggies for $30 a box! Always 2 boxes for $66 here or a box on special for $35. And my DD was in WALKER size when I was using Huggies and they only came in a box of 64! But $30 is awesome!:

ohhhhh man.. Woolies select brand.. they rule! way better than huggies, have never had a leak or nothing and dd sleeps right through the night. They are $22 bucks for 88 nappies if anyone is interested :)
my DD has some nappy rash, around her bottom. would aldi be causing this? she has only gone to aldi ones the last week or so. she also uses them at night. i find they do not leak. i do love them though!
I use Aldi, never had a hassel, I have been told that Aldi are made by Huggies, I think they are just an earlier model of huggies. The nappoes have never given my son nappy rash, but any wipes other than curash do.
I think all kids will react differently to different brands, so find the cheapest one that works for you and go with it.
I use cloth for DS, Huggies before cloth.
But with my girls I used VIP's. They were great. Made by the same company as huggies, Kimbie's or kimberly clark or something, so just as good for half the price, but no beading gel stuff at nappy changes.
They aren't around anymore I don't think.
We are using Nature Babycare Nappies & wipes. They are fantastic & they look so cute. They don't leak, great overnight, no nappy rash, great slim fit & they are eco friendly. We love them!

they are the only thing DS doesn't pee straight through, except Aldi's but the nearest aldi's is 15 hours away :(
For bubba's first month, the MCNs didn't fit her (and I was too shellshocked to wash cloth nappies). We used several disposable brands - Huggies, Mamia (from Aldi) and Bambo.
Let me sing the praises of Bambo! We found them online at ecobabe. We got them initially because they can be composted / tossed in the worm farm and won't contribute to landfill. But we've stayed with them as our 'going out' nappy because we've had fewer leaks and poo-splosions than in any other brand.
The second fave is the Aldi brand. In addition to being the second best fit, they have Australian animals on them. Huggies come last.
My little girl tried basically all brands of disposal nappies.
When we were in HK, she tried Pampers and Huggies at the beginning, but then we got introduced to Japanese nappies – Merries by my sister in law as my niece stopped complaining her butt was itching after using the Japanese one. The Japanese one is in deed very good as it’s softer, more absorbent, thinner and more thoughtful in design. I had a test with my hand one day that I pressed a very wet (over night) nappy with my hand and it was dry, so amazing.
Then when we moved to Australia, I was not able to buy the Japanese one at the beginning, so we tried Huggies, pampers (found that quality of Huggies and pampers in Australia are not as good as in HK), baby love and some other brand with name I forgot. Recently, I found there is online shop sells Japanese nappies, so we get back to use Merries again.
Rhino went into cloth nappies from day 13 - I would have done it earlier, except I was waiting for his circumcision to heal.
He was in full time (day and night) until he was 15 months old or so; now we use cloth during the day and sposies at night. I probably could go back to using cloth overnight as I think his size might be better now (and at the time we thought he was waking himself up due to the wetness); but the sposies are working well for us.
Since starting, we have used:

* Mandy Mac: Purple nights and hemp.
But the majority of my stash being used at the moment are BBH Smooth & Petites for when he's at daycare; and then Baby Chilli and Minky Baby when he's not.
I used huggies at night time and when we are out and about, and MCN when we are home (mostly Designer Bums and Baby beehinds). I didnt start using MCNs until DD was about 6 months old, I found that the poos were too runny and she was too scrawny before then!
We started off with cloth and biodegradable inserts but we had too many leaks and felt like we were just constantly washing.
We now use either Bambo or 7th Generaration. - BAMBO have been our fave by far.
