What products do you use with MCN?

Hi All,

Just wondering what products you use with your MCN's ie laundry powders, baby bum soothing creams, massage oil etc.

I am looking at Gaia baby stuff and Ecostore front loaders stuff(eco coz its the ONLY brand thats enviro friendly in any of my local supermarkets).

I have both BG 3.0 and Pop-Ins nappies, I am also looking at breast pads and bum wipes atm so need products that won't damage the fabrics etc. Are these suitable, is there anything better?

Any suggestions recommendations etc will be greatly appreciated

i use the eco store stuff when i use washing powder - i don't tend to use it all the time though with the newborn nappies - no real need. i have a top loader fp washing machine with a nappy wash setting though - not sure if that makes much difference. if you do you washing powder you only need a very small amount.

for bum cream we're using moogoo msm cream. it's one that is mcn friendly (and smells good, and has cleared up E's first nappy rash overnight woot!). i have gaia products here to try out, but haven't started using them yet. at the moment we just use water to clean her - it's not like she is super grotty!

I use Gaia stuff - the moisturiser is ok for all over stuff, but I prefer using just moogoo for nappy rash.

And I usually use Amolin sensitive (or purity) which ever is cheapest at the time for washing them.. lol

I'm a bit naughty and use regular powder...but I second the moogoo stuff...FANTASTIC

I use Gaia and Miessence. Both contain similar ingrediants.

Moogoo for nappy rash, and I did use Aware for washing powder, but now I just use Bi-carb soda.... and its great!!!!!!!

So cheap, works better, AND takes out that smell you can get with them sometimes.... just 2 Tbls each full load.....

PB - how does the bicarb leave the nappies? as in softer etc do they have any smell afterwards or just like fabric? do you have a front loader? Just wondering about the different products in front versus top loader.

We do have my nans old top loader which needs to be fixed which would be awesome coz I can adjust the water levels.

tri nature concentrate here. It is awesome, smells great and so much cheaper. Since you only use a tablespoon it lasts us about 3 or more months and I do a LOT of washing with 3 little kids.

For nappies I jsut hot wash, don't use anything. Haven't since I worked out that was part of Ashtons nappy rash problem and since changing to just water I haven't had any smells or stains!

i know lots of people use soap nuts for their MCN - I will buy some one day!

for now I just use eco store for washing and moo goo for bum (if needed, its very rare)

I have a top loader babe.....
I find my nappies cleaner and brighter with bi-carb... with no smell at all... i gues it works as a odour neutralizer as well!

I also haven't stripped wash since using it either, as there is no detergent build up.... the bi carb fizzes the water up, but doesn't seem to stay "in" the nappy....

A lot of people are saying they use nothing too, like missymoo, so will try that soon... just nervous they'll be dirty still!!!!

hehe I was nervous too at first, but since changing a few months ago I haven't had one dirty nappy, the hot water kills the germs and I don't often get them on the line because of the weather here but they haven't had any stains either. It's honestly amazing. I went back to washing on cold with some tri nature the other month, that lasted a week... OMG the stink!!
Never had to do a strip wash here either I did use soap nuts once but didn't find they cleaned very well. All the clothes were coming out with stains and still dirty, the nappies stank, so I gave up on that one.

OH I KNOW, I just fell in love with them all when I got them and i love playing with them and pretending there is a bitty botty in them - YES I am a freak

I am mad about MCN's sooo cannot wait to use them.

I love seeing them all set up colour coded in my draw too I did say I was a freak.

I ordered all mine online nothing more exciting then getting packages in the mail I have also just ordered some breast pads and cloth bum wipes from Arimehs store - you should check out some of the girls online stores (links are usually in their sig) I swear they could send you broke

I did have a look at a few different ones in the shops as well but new what I wanted before I brought them the Pop- ins were an extra addintion JIC I ran out of nappies (like 24 BG weren't enough) Some places do sample packs as well so be sure to check out the packages sections.

Also I laybyed my orders to make it easier on the pocket

I just use our normal powder for the nappies (Spree i think it is atm) but only put in a tiny amount. Moogoo for his bum rash tho....like the others said smells so good, works so well and doesnt harm the nappies!
I love our Pop-In...must save up to get some more I think So annoying when I put the Pop-In on for his big nap and he instantly poops in it! hmmm maybe he doesnt like it as much as I do lol
