DS will be 3 in September and has been showing all the signs for a while that he is ready to potty train. The problem is he won't sit on his potty or the toilet without a nappy on - he is happy to sit on either with a nappy on but will scream the hous down if we try to sit him on it without a nappy!
If anyone has any suggestions that may help please share
My DD wouldn't sit on the potty at all, but had been showing all the signs of being ready to TT for a while too. (She was scared of wearing undies because she had slipped in her pee on the tiles a couple of times and was totally put off)
The only thing that worked was bribery. I can't remember what we used as bribery but it got her in to her undies one morning and on the potty that afternoon. The good thing was that once over that hurdle she barely had an 'accident' and never looked back.
What about the chance to wear some 'big boy' undies that he has picked out especially?
Might have to try bribery.. he picked out undies last year and he still won't wear them, not even over his nappies.. might have to bring thm out of his drawer and just try more often with bribes...

I read your post because we've been EC-ing our bub since she could sit, but sometimes she goes on a potty strike and just doesn't want to sit there. Probably not the same thing though as she is still under one!
I've read somewhere that once babies are trained to poo & wee in their nappy, it's quite strange and unpleasant to do it on the potty or toilet. The suggestion was to first get the kid used to eliminating in the bathroom, on the potty/toilet with nappy on, then you can unfasten the nappy and have it lying in the potty so they get used the different feeling of weeing into space, then eventually when they are happy with that, remove the nappy. HTH...
Just won't sit on the potty or toilet!
