Whats wrong with Sydney and MCN?

Hi All,

This is a bit of a rant, but Ive noticed that most MCN suppliers are in QLD or VIC. Even the reusable nappy week sessions have so many events in QLD and VIC and 3 in Sydney =(

How come Sydney doesn't have many suppliers of MCN? Is it alot less popular here?

I have also noticed in antenatal classes, they never mentioned the options of MCN. I didnt even know about them until DD was 5mths =(

yeah unfort SA is the same , we have i think 3 shops that sell them.. and really only one particular brand...

and no events here for MCN at all!!

I think there are a couple... I know theres a lady in Dural and another (iishfly) in Seven Hills (or somehwere near there). I have found a couple, but you are right when you say most seem to be in Vic and Qld. I also realised that - when I went to antenatal classes they only talked about terry flats and sposies and didnt even mention anything about MCN. That midwife was old-school though, so she probably didnt even know about MCN anyway!

When I told people that we are going to use cloth they thought i was nuts - so i brought a few along to show my family and they were just amazed, they had never seen anything like it!

I have seen one type in a store in the inner west - cant remember what they were, certainly not anything that I have heard of on line, and that was it!

I get most of my fluffy mail sent to work and everyone is just amazed at all the wonderful things i have bought - I mean, if you weren't on the net, how on earth would you know what a BBH or a little squirt was? LOL

I think I hear some business oportunities out there!! I can't believe with such a huge market as Sydney that there aren't more out there.

Kitten they sell Peapods in My baby warehouse on parramatta road in Leichhardt. I've seen some in a store in wahroonga (or maybe turramurra?) a while ago too. I bought my very first MCN from there because I wanted to see and touch it first, rather than buying it online without seeing and touching it.

I totally agree... I had no idea about MCN till ds was about 6 months and a friend showed me one. The thought of the the big terry ones put me off cloth altogether!!! And my antenatal class mw was anti-cloth for that very reason- i don't think she knew about MCN either.

hah! LoriRae, our antenatal class MW was the total opposite. Totally against sposies and told us all to use terry flats. We seriously spent like half the day learning how to fold terry flats. I know its not that hard but I'm stupid and just couldnt do it, which put me off cloth till I read about MCN on bellybelly. I really do wish you could buy them in real life more places though, instead of mainly online.

There is a little shop in Richmond that stocks peapods & something else.. Maybe more now too but I haven't been inthere for a while.

I think Castle hill may have some places too but couldn't tell you were or who...

Hmmmm If only Ihad the money to set up a shop LOL
