Okay - so I am the worlds laziest housewife - but financial reality has set in (a new house and a part time income) and I would rather buy a coffee and cake with a friend than disposable nappies - and yes this is a choice I may have to make in the coming months

My mum can sew really well and has offered to have a go at making some MCN's - she actually really keen. I like the idea of Ai2's with a lay-in or snap in booster - I guess a pocket without stuffing the pocket IYKWIM. This way I may be able to get multiple uses out of the shell sometimes? So getting to my questions

1. Can I just lay a sewn/shaped booster inside a shell? ( I assume the nappy would have to be well fitted) OR would I need to fasten it somehow ie snaps/velcro

2. What could I make these out of?
eg: Layers of bamboo/microfibre with a microfleece topper?

2. How could they be sewn?
eg: all around with binding so they are "sealed? OR just on one end? - would these dry quicker?

Am I making sense? Any advice gratefully received by this very new convert to cloth
