    making pockets out of covers?

has anyone converted a cover to become a pocket? i have some great covers but i have always resented the struggle of trying to fit a cover over a nappy with no edges out.. anyway i am presently enamoured with pockets, so it sounds like the perfect solution. but i look at them and it seems too hard. any thoughts/experiences?

i did it. i made a pocket nappy out of a PUL cover. it was easy and it works! i took a cover that i didnt use much as it's a bit tight around the legs when covering a nappy (but just right stuffed as a pocket) and cut some material out of an old pair of trackies and sewed it on to the elastic edges of the cover. i cut the front corners so as not to cover the snaps, and left an opening at top back to stuff and i have a pocket nappy! it's really well fitting and the lining material works like that stray dry suadecloth (its polyester mini cordoroy) so it works. and it looks great (even with the wrong colour cotton showing half way around). I'm so clever. i love my new sewing machine.

hi BekZ, thanks! happy that i can share my little victory over the sewing demons, one to the nappy gods. my boys are great- the little one is sleeping 10-11 hrs at night: woohoo! he's 8 months and 9.8 kgs - very healthy, except for a little bit of infection on his foreskin. i got the nurse to check it out and she said keep an eye on it, but i'm taking him to the emergency section if it's worse tmw. maybe the doctors will look at his willy and say, "i think we need to make a pocket out of this cover"
