Question Outer material recomendations and patern question.

So far I have been making fitted nappies for DS and a few friends using an inner layer of terry, booster pad made from old terry squares and an outer layer of 100% cotton that is very terry like. The problem I am having is the outer layer fading very quickly and pilling (I think that is the right term.
Can anyone recommend a good material to use for the outer layer?

So far I have made nappies from the Mama Bird, Wee Weka and Ottobre patterns but these don't seem to be great for newborn/small size. Any recommendations on a good pattern for this size?

    Thanks in advance.

    pattern.......

I know someone that used a NB disposable, traced it and came up with a fantastic NB nappy. You could try that or even just make some prefolds out of terry.

You could also use Sherpa for the outter

Quilting cotton is pretty hardy for the outer layer
