    Having trouble finding fabric!

I'm planning (note: "planning" ) to make some cloth nappies, I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to fabrics, sewing etc so am hoping I can stumble my way through it and baby will have a decent nappy at the end of it!

I'm having trouble finding terry cloth fabric though. Can't seem to find any in our local fabric store (maybe I'm just not looking hard enough...), and this morning have spent a couple of hours googling to find online stores (plenty of terry cloth for sale in the US! ) but any I have found that seem to be what I'm after don't have any stock...

Anyone willing to share the places they buy their material from? Online stores would be great as I don't have to venture outside

Not sure about terry cloth available online as I use bamboo (sorry I'm a bamboo snob )

You may be able to get it from bamboofabricstore as they also sell organic cotton

I know spotlight sells it if you are in the traveling mood (probably not at your stage in PG I'm guessing).

I'll have a tart about and see what I can find.

NO bamboo in Australia until the end of May due to a co op flop. You'll only find brown or black.

Double sided terry and single sided is available for $20m from spotlight and lincraft

but honestly...for that price Id be getting me some bamboo hon

Keep an eye out on ebay too. There was some hemp terry on there a little while ago that worked out to around $10 a metre. Not sure if you want that much (there was around 7m), but you might find what you need.

Really? I've got some. It is rougher than bamboo, I use it in pockets so its not against the skin.
Have no idea what the hemp terry would be like TBH.

depends what the layer is between them to hon.....sensitivites can be intensified when there are a few layers of osmething together.

I also think it depends on what the product is but i havent had much luck with hemp and was sick and tired of strip washing it every 2 weeks

I ordered Bamboo from a NZ site last week (Greenbeans) and recieved it today. So if you want bamboo terry, hop on there. They do have other fabrics too and I have found them to be very good to communicate with. The exchange rate makes it cheaper than anything you can get in oz and postage is done by weight.

I agree hon...greenbeans is fantastic!!!!!! just ordered osme bamboo fleece from there too but snaps australia generally is the cheapest for bamboo fleece - even with the exchange rate
