Question Too many types of covers... I need HELP!

    Someone please help me!

Ok, so we're using cloth, just some fitted Terrys, we love them, but need some advice on covers.

We've been using PVC and fluffies. YES I know PVC is old fashioned but forgive me, my mum bought them so we used them.

And we'd probably still use them if we didn't have a problem. Well our chubba bubba has rolly poley thighs. And the PVC just aren't cutting it as we have the problem of if its not cutting off the circulation to her legs then poo and wee is leaking onto her clothes. They also tend to cut into her belly. It looks painful when its too tight and a right PITA when it leaks! Same problem with the fluffies. Though... we could probably make the fluffies work but... I hate them. I don't like wool soakers either, I'm just not a fan.

ANYWAY, Mel (Arimeh ) came round the other week and I saw she was using.... umm.... Motherease I think they're called...? which looked really good. She mentioned she liked them cos M has skinny legs and those covers were good cos they stop leaks, and I thought oh we have leaks that'd be good for us except Jazz has rolly legs so just wondering if they'd be good or if theres a better type of cover for my rolly poley baby?

We are looking for a ... dunno how to describe the style but the wrap around do up style, not the pull up style, unless theres a brand that gives some room around the belly...

Right now function and Jazzy's comfort is the most important thing, so they could be $20 each for all I care (oh, that and ... I have the CC ).

You could look at Maz's covers, hers are fleece.
Then you have Baby Beehinds, which are PUL (same as the motherease, just different shape/style but made of the same thing)
Umm tots bots covers... hmmmm Bubba J.
there are heaps out there & yes, excpect to pay an average of $15 + unless you can find some on sale/second hand.
Try the auction site buy for baby. thats the place to go for second hand MCN!

ok you need to get some Baby Beehind Covers .. they are awesome and super strecty and leak proof, i use them over any fitted nappy and never had an issue .. and only $11.50 each they are a bargain , have a look at their website and see their covers ..

how much does Jaz weigh , Gab is 4.8 and they still are a little big on her (small size) but the good thing about bbh covers are that the sizing is generoous and long lasting , the soft fold over elastic sits against the babies skin and is comfy , meaning no cutting in or no red marks !!

they are sandwich PUL which means they are soft and flexible ...

I like covers with a gusset, like the motherease rikki, tots bots, bambino neo, bummies. Many more, can't think of any right now though!
I didn't like the BBH cover b/c it doesn't have gussets and i had a few leaks with them. Maybe b/c my girl had skinny legs and was little.
But covers like the motherease would be fine with rolly polly legs too.

If you try darlingsdownunder they have BBH as well as motherease, tots bots, bummis and more!

Leash - you know my favs are the motherease - but thats cos of the gussets - they are fab!!
Having said that, we use wool at night for Miss M now that she is moving more and we dont' get compression leaks - I also use bummis fleece ones during the day, some of maz's covers, but my favs are by far the mother ease!!!! But we do use the BB PUL ones, and she has a swaddlebees one on a the moment.

I think I like the ones with gussets more because if I haven't paid enough attention when putting it on (like DS is screaming in my face or something) then the gussets help protect their clothes if there is going to be a leak.

PUL covers are good and work well but I had a big problem with them cutting into Calebs big fat squishy thighs when he was little. No matter how loose I did them up.
Maz's covers are brilliant because they are so soft and are a lot more flexible. There are other fleece covers on the market. Search for stacinator or swaddlebes but you'll pay twice as much for them

If you want to use wool but want 'sewn' covers rather than knitted, the Sugarpeas covers are fantastic. They are not gussetted, but are side snapping so you can adjust the legs and waist independently. They also do Maldon Mills fleece covers.

Maz's fleece covers are awesome (and probably so are her minky ones but I can't speak from experience yet).

The gusseted PUL covers that I used are Thirsties, I liked them a lot. I found the Tots Bots covers to be a really odd fit on E, they seem really wide (in the crotch and body). Other people love them but I have only started using them recently (and as 'backup' covers), I would have really doubted their ability to contain a poosplosion, even with the gussets. Nowhere near a snug enough fit.

I use the motherease "air flow" covers for my son, who has huge thighs. The thighs are adjustable independently of the tummy, so that works well for us.

I use Baby Beehinds wool cover on DD at night, I know you don't like wool, but they do a PUL of the same design (as ladies have mentioned above), they are wrap around with plastic velcro. My DD has very chubby legs and I have never had any leaks through the cover even when the nappy has exploded!

We cant use PUL as my little buggers both suffered with eczmer and it just doesnt go with sensitive skins in this house. Thats why I started making covers adn well 2 years on blah blah blah.

i just departed with some pink BBH PUL's that I bought for Vy whe she was little..bugger I could have swung them your way.

and all you girls mentioning me....lvoe to you all
