I am so glad to hear she's doing better....keep improving little one
Oh that's just made my day!!! I am so glad to hear Anneleise is doing so much better, what a releif....
Thank God Simone! Thats wonderful news. Hope little Anneliese comes home very soon.
Oh Simone thats fantastic news!! I'm so happy thats shes doing better.
Simone, my thoughts and best wishes are with you.
Hey trish, I have an Angelcare monitor, where there's a mat under her bed and a normal baby monitor (i can hear her thru) I've had it since the day she came home... i fought hard enough to get her, i wasnt about to lose her through something i could prevent. But before she i took her to the ED she never had an apnoea episode, it was only about 1/2 an hour after i took her in... its good, because although i know what to do its so upsetting seeing your babe not taking a breath...
simone - im so glad that anneliese is doing much better & fingers crossed she will be back home soon
Simone fantastic that you have one already, shame that you need it though. So what do the nurses do in hop?? Just try to rouse her awake?? Sorry might be a stupid question.
Simone, I'm reading the posts (haven't been able to get on since Friday afternoon) with tears streaming down my face and then tears of happiness as I got towards the end. What a little fighter you have! Love to all your family. :)
Simone, I just saw your updated ticker, she is just so beautiful!
That pic was taken a couple of days ago, when she was starting to pick up, then after it she went downhill again. I love it, she just looks so peaceful.
Trish - yeah, they just have to shake her a lil, i've been there for a cuple and had to do it. Its horrific, knowing they arent breathing. Apparently its common with premmies with bronchiolitis. Doesnt make me feel any better tho...
Nah I'm sure it doesn't Simone. The picture is gorgeous, good to see that she has grown some too :)
oh my gosh! She looks so big there simone!
Glad to hear that your little princess has picked up Simone.
Simone, thats fantastic she is improving. What a little fighter. :) I love the pic of her, what a gorgeous girl you have there. :)
Yay that Anneliese is doing better, Simone, I hope she continues to do so.
She looks beautiful Simone :)
She was weighed in at 3.34kg on admission. alot bigger than her 1.68kg at birth!!! she's a lil chubba now, hopefully she'll ne out of hospital by the weekend, ryan still want me to go to the BB dinner... says i need a break :)
What a beautiful photo, she is just precious, I am glad to hear that she is doing well, I am thinking of you and hope she gets to come home real soon
UPDATE: Anneliese is having some probs with her heart - called extreme tachecardia. Her heart is beating to fast, sometimes over 230/240bpm. They're trying to find out why... She's still on oxygen, and if they cant discover whats wrong, she'll be going back to the ICU for closer monitoring... Why cant something go right? When she gets better, why cant she stay better instead of going downhill?
Simone, you must have run over a china man. Keep positive thoughts, you have one brave tough little fighter on your hands. Thinking of you and hope they have more insight into what is going on today.
Oh Simone, and just when you expected her to almost come home.. :crying:
Keep your chin up and as the others have said, you have a little fighter on your hands.. I am  that she leaps over this hurdle.. *hugs*
Get well Anneliese - my prayers are with you Simone
ok, some good news at last They still dont know whats causing the tachecardia, but its only happening in smal bursts now, and they're turning her oxygen off today, to see how she goes... If she copes, she might be home by tomorrow night... Todays day 8. Im  so hard...
I'll pray for you too Simone. Little Anneliese is such a fighter!
 praying for you and Little Anneliese.
My word you have been through alot.
Cheers
Hey, whats a week in hospital after the 4 weeks she spent in there after birth...
Anything is better than the 17 weeks we were in hospital.. heheheh:
OK racs you beat me :) hope ronan doesnt get rsv after all he's been thru...
Well he's had an RSV immunisation so if he does it he shouldn't get it as severe (here's hoping).. :D
i didnt even know there was an immunisation otherwise iwould've gotten it for her grrrr...
Anneliese is still in my prayers Simone - lets hope she keeps improving and is home and healthy soon
Im going crazy without her, i didnt see her at all monday, got a couple of hours with her tuesday, and hopefully going on tonight... but our car's playing up, so might not get to. Its frustrating, all the dr's keep saying that premmies are more susceptible to rsv, but noone told me i could immunise her, and prevent all of this heartache ive been thru
But we're still waiting for the drs to do the rounds, and recommend to turn the oxygen off...
Sorry if I have missed it but what is RSV?
How frustrating for you! When Ronan was discharged from the hospital a baby that same day was diagnosed with RSV in the bay next to his but directly behind his bed, and another 3 contracted the virus so the next night we were called in to get him immunised because he was so close to the infected babies.. They said the shot was $1,500 per hit and because he was still a patient on a program called HITH he was made to have it.. :)
I hope they take the oxygen off Simone..
Simone hope all is going well for Anneliese and the oxygen has come off her. O had never heard of RSV either until Tehya was in hospital last year with bronchialitis and pneaumonia. SHe was checked for RSV because at the time it was raging. I never knew that there was a vacine for it either, but Woah at the cost of it.
Racs, sounds like you guys were lucky getting it through the program :)
ETA, Fiona RSV is Respiratory Syncytial Virus
:
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in young children under the age of 12 months. RSV infections are very common. About 50% of children first get the infection before they are 12 months old, and almost all children will have had an RSV infection by the time they are two years old.
During their first RSV infection, between 25% and 40% of young children will develop bronchiolitis or pneumonia, but less than 2% will need to be admitted to hospital. Most of those who need admission will be under 6 months old. The children at greatest risk are babies who were born very prematurely, or those with other health problems.
People can be re-infected with RSV several times during their life. It will usually cause moderate to severe cold-like symptoms. However, it can cause pneumonia at any age, especially among elderly people or others who are already unwell, such as people with heart, chest or immune system problems. Adults and older children with RSV can spread the infection to babies and young children
Simone I only just found this thread- I hope you have good news soon. I will think of her and pray for her to come home soon *hugs*
Ahh, thanks for that Trish
Grrr at the cost... you think the gov would subsidise it, it would be cheaper than having all these babies in hospital for weeks on end...
They took the oxygen off Anneliese twice yesterday, her oxygen levels dropped down to 88%, the lowest she can go before they put it back on is about 90%. So they'll try again today. The tachycardia seems to have settled, her heart rate only goes up when she gets upset or has a coughing fit, and then it only goes up just over 200bpm, not 240+ like before... Day 9 today...
I totally agree and honestly if we had to pay for it he wouldn't have had it..
Awww the main thing is is that she is plodding along and it's probably good that she's taking her time as frustrating as it is for you guys.. She is growing stronger everday and it sounds as though she's FINALLY going forward!
