When did your premmie start talking?

    Just simple words like mum/dad.

DD is nearly 7 months (5 months corrected).

Charlotte I know my DS isn't a premmie but I thought it was worth mentioning that he's almost 12mths and he's only just started saying things like "woof" for dog... he started saying Dada Mama Abel (his sister ) at around 8mths maybe? So if DD is only 5mths corrected... don't panic

    Was really just curious! lol
My niece is nearly 9 months and she's been talking for aaaaages. She can said mama, papa, tries to say puppy, bubba, han (for Hannah!), baby, ming-ma (grandma), quack and clap. She seems pretty advanced, tho. Started crawling at 4 1/2 months, she's already walking around furniture and trying to walk.

    Its hard not comparing!!

My 25 weeker at 17.5mths (14mths corrected) is saying mumumum, dadadada, ahha (so cute) but is not really saying any discernible words more just babble at this time.
My 28 weeker is 2.5yrs and at least 12 mths behind in her speech and is seeing a speechie.
My 35 weeker was a real babbler from 6mths and now at 3.5yrs could talk the leg of a chair.
But you have to remember prem or not each child is different and does things at their own pace. All 7 of mine have done things different.
She is only 5mths developmentally so she is still very young...I wouldn't be worrying yet.

Both my boys developed at different rates.... babbling started closer to 12 months old and actual words were after 18 months.
