Hi,
Bub was born in Dec and we used the Ergo Sport, through summer from birth with the heart to heart insert. I love our Ergo and use it all the time, much more than the pram. The heart to heart does support the head, we never had a problem with it not providing enough support. Might be a bit diff for you being up the Goldy with the heat but we just dressed bub lighter and we didnt take her out in really hot weather. But saying that we used it all the time in summer and she never got too hot.
Loved the heart to heart. Question for you: if you don't use it, are you intending to use the other insert? Or not use it at all? Because you really can't use the Ergo until about 4mths without an insert. Not sure if you're aware of that?
Anyway, DS loved the insert. I loved having him in it - much better than the old insert.
I think they'd be fine in Gold Coast weather - bubs has been used to nice warm uterus don't forget! Just dress baby in light clothes, maybe just a short sleeved, no legs grow suit, and let your body heat do the rest.
I used it for my DD when she was 5mths (so no insert) up in Cairns, my DH carried her and he is a hot hot bod, and she was fine.

Yep, am aware of that..was thinking that I could just use my PeanutShell up until 4 monthsish...I would rather not though cos I always had issues getting DD into a good position in that and she never seemed really comfy in it (having said that she didn't like being held in a cradle possy- loved being upright).
OK...thanks for that, girls- I'll order it (didn't take much convincing, did I...lol)
My daughter only ever fit in the heart to heart insert once, and then just seemed too big to fit comfortably. Then I didn't use it again until about 6months because she didn't seem to be able to get in a comfortable position, so I just used the hugabub which we both loved. I've now started using the ergo again since she turned 6 months and she seems really comfortable. It's really convenient because I can take the ergo and a single pram and have either my toddler in the pram and baby in the ergo on my front, or the baby in the pram and my toddler in the ergo on my back
I have the heart to heart insert for DS 4 weeks 5kg and I really like it. With DD I didn't get Ergo till she was 5 months, so never needed it. One thing I like is that DS is so comfy in the insert that often when I get home can just put him down in the insert and he stays asleep, also if you need to put bub down anywhere for a minute (floor etc) don't need to worry about blanket as they are in insert.
Lol, maybe I was doing it wrong, because I was putting Shayla in hers when she was about a month old, so probably 5kg-ish. Her feet would just pop out and her head seemed too high above the insert to be supportive.
