Baby Jogger City Select from birth??

Just wondering if anyone has used their city elect from birth? I'm 35wks preg with twins and we're just looking into abasinette/capsule attachments and thought I'd seen somewhere on here heaps of ppl say they just use the normal seats from birth so I thought I would ask and see how you think it works or if you have any hints? We put a sheepskin pram liner in one last night and it makes it seem a bit better so I'm not sure. I've also heard others say the basinete attachments are a waste of money etc so wondering if these people thought it was ust better to go with the seats?

I used my City Select from birth with dd. I had a liner in it that I used to use but nothing else. When the back of the seat is fully lowered it's quite nice in there, kinda cocoon like. She never had a problem sleeping in there. I never used a bassinette attachment so can't really comment on those but not sure how much use you'd get out of it for the money it costs?

Also, I bought the capsule attachment but have never used it.

We have this pram, I got it when DD was 5 months old so am yet to use it with a newborn however you don't NEED the capsule bit. A comfy liners and one of those things to stop the babys headrolling is all you need.

If you wanted something you can order the soft liners from the USA, these do not have a hard base from what I understand so are a little better for the babys back and they can still be in a semi curl position because theseat does not recline completely flat.

Don't worry about it not fitting the Australian models, Australia imports these fromt he USA and they are the EXACT same thing. Orders under $1000 there is no taxes on, but shipping can be a little more exxy. I have ordered stuff from a company called MyStrollers and their prices were excellent and I saved myself a packet even with the exxy postage.

Personally I wouldn't bother and would just go with a liner and head roll thing.

I've just recently bought the Select and plan on using the capsule and or bassinet with my newborn but I have seen loads of mums with newborns in the seats without a worry! They recline really well so the baby is pretty much flat anyway.

I'll be using the capsule because it's easy to transfer - DD didn't transfer well so I'm not risking it this time I wasn't going to get the bassinet but I bought my pram from the States so the bassinet only cost about $80 so I thought why not

I used it from birth too, it was fine.

But yeah, if you have the two in there and baby at the top he/she won't be facing you, it won't fit with the seat fully reclined. Actually, maybe it can if the toddler is facing you too but my DD wouldn't want to be down there underneath. So I had them both facing out and with the top one fully reclined DD1 was looking up at me anyway iykwim.

I just bought this pram for my toddler and soon to be newborn so haven't really used it yet! But we ended up buying a capsule for bubs as I thought this would be easier when in and out of the car.

I'm planning on getting one soon, but I plan on just getting the normal seats. I'm happy to use the normal seat reclined for a newborn as the single pram we got when we had DS was "from birth" and the seats look the same. Even the single one I got the seats didn't fully recline. In fact, I think I preferred that the seat was still slightly inclined as it helped with his reflux when we went walking.

I'll admit that I'm not sure how often the newborn will be in the pram though. I suspect that my toddler and baby will go in the pram whilst I carry the newborn in the hug-a-bub. Hmmm, how's that for not wanting my kids to grow up... I guess I'll have to start calling them my "little boy" and "toddler" by the time the newborn comes, lol!!!

Our twins have used the normal seat since birth with a generic head roll thingo (technical there sorry :P) Since birth... well since they left the NICU and SCN's anyway. We've never had any issue with it regarding the recline for newborn. They both seem to love it and will sleep in it very well.
