    Hey Bathsheba,

Whilst I am not against co-sleeping for other people. I really believe everyones choice for themselves is the right one. I am pretty strong that bubs will be in their own room and their own bed. DD was straight into crib and this one will be too. I suppose i dont mind paying the extra as my first was a lot different then now. We were moving overseas so I did not get to pick anything as it had to be sold before we moved to Australia. Then once we arrived everything was second hand and picked out by others for us. Nothing we had for bubs was what we wanted.

This time I am really enjoying being able to pick out exactly what I want. This is a first and I am loving being able to do this. Thanks so much though. Much appreciate your thoughts. : )

We have the Boori sleigh and LOVE it. Only dents ours has is from DS1 chewing on edge of cot but all my friends with all different brands have same issue.
My cot has a plastic strip across the top of the rail to stop biting. Name eludes me right now but after we bought it I realised I wasn't happy with how flimsy the bars felt.

Thanks Miss M. I really think I will go in and tell them my mind is changed. : ) Skybie: My dd never chewed the crib at all but as I am selling this one after 18 months I was told to go to bunnings and get the piece of plastic and cut it so it slips on the crib. Will get dh to do that. Omg already dents??? Not good. : ( If you have not used it why don't you take it back? Btw mine is walnut too! Love it.
tams Bubs baby shop (next to ikea where we having lunch) has that teeth stuff too and its soo coool

I have the Borri sleigh and have had it for 4yrs and it doesn't have a single dint in it. Its in perfect condition and I plan on keeping it for all my babies. Hasn't dated what so ever. I'm not familiar with the other brand.

there ... just thought I would let you know in my travels today DP and i questioned the Boori cots and tested the wood itself. Much to our disappointment, without ANY pressure what-so-ever DP ran his fingernail along the wood and sure enough a scratch line showed up, I pressed on with with my nail and it dented!

Speaking to the lady instore she said Boori has split into '2' companies where the wood comes from overseas and the cots are painted here, the wood USED to be sourced from New Zealand and was New Zealand hardwood, but since the company has split into '2' they outsourced to obviously a cheaper option (and less quality) to an asian country.

We will not be buying a Boori - the representative said Boori is not what they USED to be, before the company split they were fabulous quality, now its cheap crap sold at a ridiculous price.

We will be buying a Love n Care sleigh bed, they retail for around $700 the love n care also felt sturdier than the Boori.

Hopefully those who have purchased the Boori dont have any issues with their purchase!

That's what the baby shop said to us too. When we first got our cot the two ends hadn't been joined properly and popped apart so we had to get replacements. N'yeah. They said about the asia thing. Coulda said prior to buying. It is extremely disappointing. I feel gutted whenever I look at mine. Such a waste of money. we also got the baby to youth cot - so it converts to a king single - so I'm gonna be looking at it for a long while yet!!
Glad you won't have to make the same mistake tho!

I have the Australiana Heritage Collection Cot and couldn't be happier. I bought it 2nd hand and it had no scratches or marks on it and it has now done 2 of my kids and will be used for a 3rd and there is still no marks or scratches. Bugger about the Boori cots though. What a rip off.

That means it's a faster growing wood and as a result softer. How disappointing they use inferior wood now. Glad I didn't buy one for DD then. My friend was raving about her's but it would have been bought about 4 years ago

This is the one I was going to get. Looks the same to me without the huge price tag. In the end I got something second hand.

It practically is the same without the Boori tag and price! It even comes in the same colours as Boori!

It annoying how companies justify the price when they are all about profit!

Okay everyone, just did my research. : )

Have a look at product review and look up Boori. All raves about it. : ) I have yet to hear a bad thing about Boori from someone who has had one so going with my gut on this one.

The Boori line is made from Qld wood. Not asian. As for the nails on the crib. Tell me a crib that does not dent if you put your nail in it? Lmao. There is a baby store in brisbane that currently has dents in all 20 something of their cribs as I did the nail test and they all failed! The white ones showed up less though. : )

I believe it comes down to how you personally care for your crib. So far everyone I have spoken to with a Boori is more then happy. I am super excited by my purchase and I must
say that I will be letting you all know in 18 months how I have gone.

Btw did the change over from the sleigh to the sleigh Royalle and saved $50! So decision made! Thanks everyone. : )

Btw I have gel nails, not acrylic. just a dent in Boori when pushed in but other cribs paint was quick to come off. : )

MissM: Have a look on product reviews before buying the love and care sleigh. I also looked at that one before making my mind up with the Boori. Good luck! xx
