    Cot Bumpers

Some people have been telling me that cot bumpers are very unsafe to have in the cot while the baby is sleeping....which makes sense I guess if bubs face is pressed against the fabric. But then someone else told me they are great to prevent bub hurting its head on the wodden bars. The bumpers I mean are those wrap around padded fabric ones that look soooo cute matching the nappy stacker, quilt etc. So which is the case do you guys think??? And is it even safe to have a quilt over bubs?? Or is all this stuff just a pretty way to waste my money lol

They are unsafe for use in cots. You can get something called AirWrap (I think that's the name of it) which you can find in Target, Big W etc. It's a safer alternative to cot bumpers. And quilts are unsafe as well.

I think the recommended time to have bumpers on the cot is 12-18 months. It's dangerous for bubs anytime before that. They are really only for decoration and IMO not necessary - it's not worth the risk to bubs.
